yt-dlp would be how I’d accomplish this, as it supports Apple Podcasts and is something I keep around anyway. For someone not tech savvy and probably not familiar with the terminal, there are several GUIs for youtube-dl out there. I can’t tell you which is the best one, but Open Video Downloader seems decent enough.
Unfortunately, I don’t know how to download from those websites, but when I had the same problem, I found my podcasts on the websites like Podchaser, Podbean, Player. fm. They let you download an mp3 file on an episode.
I guess you could find the RSS feed behind the Apple Podcasts listing using this

Imo it’s not a podcast if it doesn’t have a feed.
