DDG isn’t NEARLY as private as it should be, mind you. But IMO their points here are still valid.
Privacy has become a very important issue in modern society, with companies and governments constantly abusing their power, more and more people are waking up to the importance of digital privacy.
In this community everyone is welcome to post links and discuss topics related to privacy.
much thanks to @gary_host_laptop for the logo design :)
DDG is not private and they have censorship.
yeah i think this is deliberate obfuscation of their own very recent issue with privacy wrt bing trackers that a security researcher blew the whistle on.
Firefox+SearX is the answer.
Hardened Ficefox and a locally selfhosted SearX instance. 🧐
Hardened Ungoogled Chromium and a self hosted SearX instance for me!
But the default behaviour of self hosted searx is to expose the server’s IP to the actual search engines, do you use VPN or something at the server side?
