I’m glad you’re feeling a bit better! Being ill sucks, hopefully you stay in consistent good health afterwards. I added Helm to my tbr based off of the first time that you shared, looking forward to what you think about the ending/overall.

Started reading The Sword of Kaigen (TBR centre square for the bingo) a couple nights ago. Immediately before that, I read my first-ever Kurt Vonnegut novel – Deadeye Dick (weapon on cover - hard mode square), I really enjoyed his writing though I’m glad to have jumped into something less bleak at the moment.
On the nonfiction side, I’m gradually making my way through Seeing Like a State by James C. Scott, which came heavily recommended by another author (Erika Hall) who I really dig.

Whoa thank you so much, wasn’t aware of any of your recommendations except The Expanse. You’re a legend, much appreciated! 🖖

Ohhh I’ll take you up on your offer, nothing like adding more to the TBR. Thank you! :3
I’m a huge fan of stuff like: Steins;Gate, Counterpart, Fringe, Looper, Avatar: the last airbender universe and Mass Effect series. So got anything that scratches the time-travel, parallel/alternate worlds & doppelgängers, space, and elemental magic system type of action itch? For reference, recently finished This Is How You Lose The Time War – in which I really enjoyed how the time-travel aspect was handled; and am now reading Sword of Kaigen for the Avatar vibes.
Hol’up, are you telling me this isn’t an actual screenshot from Tom & Jerry too?! /s

Any love for a PS Vita still? Though tbh, since getting a steam deck it’s not been as appealing.

Would you say this a good place to start for someone who isn’t well versed in dialectical materialism?

Happened upon it via someone else here, check out Woodworking by Emily St. James

Cool, thank you satisfying my curiosity! Wouldn’t have thought of mineral surveying crossed with tech, though not surprising eh, not something I come across personally I guess.

Whoa what do you do? That sounds super fascinating!

After a brief pause from gaming, I’ve been playing a lot Hollow Knight recently, though I also want to jump back into Persona 3 Reloaded (as I progressed most in that before being tempted to HK by my partner). Both run super well on the steam deck, and it’s fun to hook up to the tv and use the steam controller; the pick up and pause nature of the steam deck is awesome.

Wasn’t aware of NeoDB, thank you! Looks greatc
For sure. The hand on the right looks wack especially

Hey reading buddy! I just started reading this last night, unexpectedly devoured the first 25 pages, didn’t know what to expect but have been pleasantly delighted and excited to know where it’s going. I think this might be my first epistolary novel.

Ugh yes the adaptation made me feel meh, as it missed so many key beats that adds weight to learning amount Grace’s journey. Everything else you said was spot on too.
Solid recommendations!
