It’s kinda ironic, actually. The antiwar page appears to be some weird right and left wing libertarian mix, but it got shared on a tankie instance, and then crossposted to here. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Antiwar.com
Ben Gvirs idea is still insane, tho…

TL;DR: “It’s only imperialism if the west does it!”

Looks like they can now: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Child_labor_in_the_United_States#21st_century

We’re not talking about the average clueless vibe coder here. Programming involves a lot more than just writing code. What Torvalds did was essentially “AI assisted coding”. As i understand it, he used it to narrow down the position of the bug in the code and then fixed it himself with a one-liner because apparently AI couldn’t find a solution on its own:
And this was a debug session from hell, enormously helped by an AI doing much of the grunt-work. I’d like to call it my tireless helper, but the AI several times stated flat out that this was impossible and unsolvable and that we should just write a report about it. I suspect those things have been trained by people who may not be quite as stubborn as I am. But while the AI was ready to give up several times, it did keep adding debug code and analyzing it faithfully when I pushed. So credit where credit is due and I let the AI write the commit message above. This is basically a one-liner fixing a bogus “round_up()” to a “round_down()”, but there were 24 patches adding more and more debug information to this, and 18 kernel boot to finally narrow it down to this. - Linus

That’s basically how AI should be used. To speed up things that are technically easy to do, but still very time consuming.

Israel? Russia? China? It’s not Americans, that’s for sure. have you seen what’s happening in the US?
I think your oligarchs are very much American.

Check if the “Get the latest updates as soon as they’re available” option is enabled. That’s usually the issue.

It’s an optional update. It doesn’t automatically install without activating the option to do so.
Just throw it into the recycler and start again /s

I’m rather thinking that hey want to make their slop machines the single source of truth. Much easier to get control over information, when all information is located in your own house.
Conservatives (Germany 2026):

Lol, kinda funny i found this thread just now. I just unsubbed from yet another Euro sub because it’s being flooded with racists and other far-right propagandists. One of them even tried to use my own source against me, accusing me of “not reading it”, and then quote the very thing that quite literally contradicted his point. He then accused me of “trolling” and blocked me when i mentioned his sad attempt at cherry picking.
It’s kinda sad, since that’s the page that helped me improve my English at least a little bit and connect to like-minded people. So many nice memories over the years.

It can be moderated, it’s just not profitable for them

They literally describe themselves as “socialists” and refer to Marxism on their own main page, while the post here on lemmy was crossposted from a literal communist blog calling itself “Abolish Capital”, which is fanboying for Lenin and recommending a page that unironically calls itself “TankieTube”… In Germany we would call it “Wink mit dem Zaunpfahl”.

They were already forced to delay their plans. There is no invasion of any sort going on. https://www.theguardian.com/world/2026/aug/12/trump-greenland-oil
This website does appear to have a certain bias going on, so i would take it with a grain of salt: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Monthly_Review

I’d rather recommend you to start looking up what “sovereign nations” means and how the EU actually works. Because you seem to have trouble comprehending the most basic thing that makes the EU work in the first place, which is also the reason why other responses to you seem so similar to you. The EU is not like the US. It is not a full government. We have no “federal police”, no “federal military”, no “national guard” or anything like that.
You basically want us to walk over the sovereignty of another nation, to defend it from a failing empire that is trying to walk over the sovereignty of that nation. A pretty clear contradiction. These things aren’t just “technicalities”. Doing that would break the EU as an entity, because it would destroy the trust between the member nations.
This is also why the initial comment of the other guy with the 2nd amendment thing seems quite ignorant to anyone outside the US. You guys have jurisdiction over the things your own government does.
Could we do more regarding Trump and his cronies? Probably. But with the current design of the EU it requires member countries to agree upon a common approach. However, saying that there was nothing done at all, is clearly wrong too, as i have explained before. Sending military envoys as unofficial tripwire at the request of the affected state isn’t “nothing”. And in the end it’s still your job to rid yourselves from this shit show. Even if it came to war, and the US would somehow be defeated and occupied, it would still be on you to make sure it doesn’t happen again.
Did they finally boot him off the project? Or is most of the rails community still ignoring the problem?
