Both work, but “South Africa” != “SouthAfrica”

They show up as unique tags

I assume in mastodon they don’t have spaces?

Sure thing, happy to help

Oh damn ok, I thought it was comma separated list.

eg. “South Africa, Cape Town, Nature”

Hopefully this too will help boost my community a bit more

Communities can have a default hashtag for new posts - posters can edit or remove it if they want.

Amazing thanks!! now I can set c/SouthAfrica to have “South Africa” tagged by default to it gets more visibility to the ~1,000,000 active mastodon users

Amazing thank you!! That’s fantastic news

I’d love if I was able to set my community c/SouthAfrica so that all posts automatically have “South Africa” tagged, that would mean posts get exposed to ~1 million users.

If you put the power in the hands of the mods, they can turn it on or off for their communities.

With Mods of a sub being able to set default tags for their sub, or mastodon integration settings.

All true, but the wet tires literally never get used. So they aren’t adding to anything

I wonder how much CO2 they emmit and money they waste flying these around the world all year

The UX still has a long way to go.

I’m very tolerant of shitty tech and like a struggle, and even I am often like wtf.

Signed up to piefed.zip the other day, and the default feed is just horrendous

Most users will just quit instead of trying to figure out how to fix it manually.

No proper onboarding

Yea Just like with Google, don’t put all your eggs in one basket.

Nextcloud for me

Yea I understood it as they are stuck

Corporate only follows rules if they get enforcedht by, the city should have a portal for users to report abuse, and should hit them with 5% of their annual revenu as as fine.

You see Hungarians are afraid of being kicked out of the EU, and because of that they can’t be kicked out

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Freedom_from_fear

It does not apply in this category. If it was that easy it would have been at the very least a discussion point in the media, it is not.

No it absolutely isn’t, for one they will still benefit from free movement of people and goods.

That wiki page is about Human’s Freedom-of-association, it doesn’t apply to the EU.

You can’t apply human rights to say, Hungary.

One is a person, the other is a country…

genetic fallacy : judging a claim true or false based on where it came from rather than on its merits.

The video I linked you earlier is Anti-Orban, and says the same.

Wiki also confirms this

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Article_7_of_the_Treaty_on_European_Union Article 7 of the Treaty on European Union is a procedure in the treaties of the European Union (EU) to suspend certain rights from a member state. While rights can be suspended, there is no mechanism to expel a state from the union.

And no, suspension-of-rights is not expulsion.

Brother, stop talking Bullshit

https://www.euronews.com/2022/04/08/member-states-can-leave-the-eu-but-can-the-bloc-kick-one-of-them-out

Member states can leave the EU, but can the bloc kick one of them out?

The short answer is: no. The long answer is: it would take years of haggling and then most probably fail.

The reason is quite simple: The EU simply never planned for that possibility.
"Legally speaking, we don’t have the apparatus to expel a member state

Do you have any source to back this up, this sounds like hogwash to me.

The fact that you said you could just kick them out, or even said it would be easy for them to rejoin, which is blatantly false. Makes it clear you don’t know what you’re talking about or acting in bad faith.
