  • And there is never time to maintain the code, because each project only want to add more feature/s which makes the spaghetti code even worse.

    In my group we had a golden opportunity to fix all old mistakes but no, we (decided by PO and group manager) needed to spend all time on proof of concepts that will go to production at earliest in 5 years. Now that opportunity is gone and we are crunching in order to meet the deadlines instead. Still with bad code quality of course.



















  • Interesting article, it seems they have switched: Microsoft Office -> open-source equivalent (they didn’t mention any which alternative in the article) Teams -> OpenTalk Microsoft Exchange and Outlook -> Open-Xchange and Thunderbird

    And this year they will move to Linux, I’m surprised that they are not using more programs/tools or maybe they already work in Linux. I assumed libraries had one program for their books in the library and another program for ordering books, the police had several programs etc.

    But when I think about it, what is a state in Germany responsible for? And this switch, is it only on state level or will the municipalities in Schleswig-Holstein also switch to open source?
