Yeah… When you mentioned, it makes sense now.
Yeah… I am also aware of Captopo too… GaiaGPS is one I looked at, and FarOut (based on info from Maddie and Tom: https://theadventuregene.com/australian-alps-walking-track/#navigation ) .
Google Earth Pro was 100% free for a while though, and I was more familiar with it. I used a OSM mapping layer on top
Actually, I was going to download this yesterday.
I need a good app to create gpx files for hiking…
I like gnome, but, switched back to kde because the extensions I needed broke last fedora update.
I love cosmic, but the keyboard focus doesn’t always follow into the correct tab, which was also a deal breaker
The only real issue I have with kde, is Google drive integration isn’t baked in at the moment. But, I just use the website, and there were plenty of other solutions I could use too

World News@quokk.au•Wildfires expose — and detonate — buried bombs and mines from WWI and WWII
9·15 days agoKind of a silly comparison. A lot of the fires in US are because they imported eucalyptus trees from Australia, which have literally evolved to grow oil on their leaves and want to burn.
That’s why Aussie bushfires are so insane every season too.
Here in Australia we don’t need unexploded ordinates. Our trees are basically barrels of petrol, and in minor gusts even, firefighters can get overrun by a wall of fire quickly

13·20 days agoThats what they did at my climbing Gym (Urban Climb). They’re full length cubicles and seem soundproof pretty much.
Gendered bathrooms only triggers homophobes in practice. If you had a unisex bathroom, they wouldn’t even notice. And on facebook at least, it always seems to be the people who seem highly abusive, who you wouldn’t want near your kids anyway who make a big deal about it.
At concerts here in Australia, nrgptr switching to unisex, it was fairly common for many women to line up for the mens bathrooms (as they they were often less busy)
If your first instinct is that “they’re going to rape your kids”, the problem is you
Boomers were my first thought too.
Particularly car enthusiasts often overvalue their stuff, and attack everything they won’t benefit from (like EV’s, or electrification).
Boomers… Everything they do, they think they deserve a profit
Yep. No idea why anyone would want to advertise with a company that hides their ads behind a paywall either

Only in some communities it was…
And, the lack of censorship wasn’t a good thing. It allowed absolute shtshow’s like thedonald or fatpeoplehate to exist way too long. There were also numerous pedo subreddits too which were allowed to exist apparently.
I’d argue that Reddit is at least partially responsible for a lot of f’ed up shit that many countries are now facing, by empowering those weirdos
