Satanic Temple sweater?
I’ll check it out
I have very few heroes. Mr Rogers is one of them.
Cool, thanks
Mars, actually. There’s nothing particularly interesting about it except that I’ve always wanted to be in the first wave of colonists to another planet, and Mars is a candidate.
Yeah, I know, but it’s possible it could drive more users to the fediverse- for example, if they federate, then try to monetize their platform in such a way that users drift away to other instances to avoid ads or what-have-you.
I’m willing to see what it looks like, but I’d support defederation.
Seems reasonable.
That’s a weird, and kinda creepy question anyway. Fuck em.
I feel like it’s true for me, so far. There’s less content, but that doesn’t seem like a bad thing. You can easily keep track of all the big posts.
I hope it is too. I heard there was a donation link somewhere, but the Lemmy dev team apparently have some questionable political views. Do with that what you will.
I also enjoyed the legal eagle breakdown: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7KRceywz-rU
Yeah, I guess not that surprising. Momentum is a bitch.
This feels like a desperate move. Honestly, with all the changes that they’ve made to Twitter, it’s a little surprising that they’ve kept as many users as they have.
I appreciate the information. I’m not pearl clutching, just curious.
Thank you for your service.
Is there any concern about the source code having some sort of monitoring capability? I’m not familiar with their codebase.
I believe you can still visit the community, even if it’s blocked on your home instance. Instances can blacklist other instances from their /all feed though.
I’m not really concerned that any particular instance is really going to impact my usage of the fediverse, but thanks for the info. It’s good to be aware that a particular instance may be biased.
Peertube seems somewhat active. Dunno if that counts as social media.
