Count yourself fortunate. I never had any kind of meaningful relationship with any of my grandparents. They were just people we visited sometimes.

Nope. All the downvotes wont make my mail carrier suck any less. USPS around here is terrible for packages. Mailbox stuff is fine.
… toads are frogs.
Male equivalent of resting bitch-face. Resting Bastard Face?
In this case, spending all day at the park would get boring after a while. Maybe it depends on the park.
USPS does that shit here, too. They mark stuff "Delivered"and only bring it 2-3 days later. Cooking the metrics, I assume.
I got a pair of bone-conduction headphones for that reason… joke is on me because I still have to pause it.

I agree it is dumb.

Higgs boson@dubvee.orgto Selfhosted@lemmy.world•What's up, selfhosters? It's selfhosting Sunday again!English4·3 days agoI am re-re-factoring my plans for homelab 3.0 and the migration to it. Hardware budget is non-existant so I am trying to figure out how to do everything with what I already own, while re-organizing to better use what I have to make some room. Adding a few sticks of RAM and replacing some older cat5 are all I will do this year.
I type pretty fast, it is more just that my brain doesnt work very well. Many times I am writing things just to organize my thoughts.
Not much, really. I do comment changes to config files and such.
Hah! I would have estimated more like one percent but I do still type with a real keyboard occasionally, where I am markedly faster and more accurate. Nevertheless, I still delete most emails, notes, comments, etc without saving them.
98% of everything I write gets deleted almost immediately. More if we count typos.
Higgs boson@dubvee.orgto Selfhosted@lemmy.world•Seeking advice for selfhosting critical dataEnglish1·4 days agoI have only tested them a bit and it worked fine, but I havent relied on it “in production”, as it were. I use that machine for too many things for it to be any kind of benchmark. Mine is running on an old HP workstation w/ a 7th gen iGPU chip. I am also relying on it for plex and unmanic using QSV for transcoding. It only ever has trouble if I over-tax it with those.
Higgs boson@dubvee.orgto Selfhosted@lemmy.world•Seeking advice for selfhosting critical dataEnglish8·4 days agoI use Nextcloud (currently using their AIO docker images) for all of that. Not sure if it checks all the boxes perfectly, but if not it is probably as close as youll find ready-made.
Just the tip?
For me its more like lots of chains of various lengths all tangled together.
Ive had more than one phone die that way. Now I use wireless charging as much as feasible. Just bought another charger to leave at work.
