The lack of a safety net in the U.S. is a big factor that explains why Americans feel lonelier than Danes or Swedes

    Asia has less of a safety net than the US, and I’m guessing that Asians are less lonely than Americans. I think culture, for example extended families living together as a norm, has a bigger role.
