I was on vacation in Denmark over Thanksgiving, there was always a police presence outside of every Jewish site.
Unfortunately that’s normal here in Berlin, too. For Jewish people it is the new daily life in Europe. What a shame.
Yeap. And now there will also be military presence.
On a related note, there’s a permanent police presence guarding the entrance to the Palestinian embassy in Stockholm.
Good move by Denmark.

Failing to support genocide isn’t antisemitic in the eyes of sane people… but legitimate antisemitism is on the rise.

I’m not Jewish, but I had to stop putting on a pin I often wear because it somewhat resembles the star of david. Took it off after being told I was Jewish scum and threatened while out for a walk in town.
I agree that there is a massive effort to categorise any criticism of Israel as antisemitic. And that it is an idea that should be challenged. But that doesn’t mean antisemitism isn’t also actually on the rise.I’ve seen molotov cocktails thrown at synagouges and Jewish schools, marking of Jewish houses with swastikas, defacement of Jewish graveyards, stabbings, bomb threats.
You’ve seen this in the last two months? It wasn’t a thing that was already happening? I’d like to see something that backs that up
Just got started on a couple of those articles, I didn’t know this was an actual problem, that really sucks :( I didn’t bother looking into it because of how many news sources paint any criticism of zionism as antisemitic. I should’ve researched this sooner, I’ll read the rest of the stuff that was posted too. Fuck zionists for equating actual antisemitic violence to just being anti zionist or criticizing Israel for so long that people like me can see stuff like that and dismiss it as zionist hyperbole and propaganda
Are you being willfully ignorant here or do you just not read the news?
Nah. But attacking Jews who have no part in the genocide merely because they are Jews is.
No. Going after Jewish people because they are Jewish is antisemitic- and there’s a lot too much of that going on.
But you knew that really, didn’t you?
Why comment this on a post about Jewish citizens of a non-involved country being attacked? I understand not supporting Israel, but these people under threat aren’t a part of this.
…Do you…do you want there to be a correlation with “not supporting genocide” and "antisemitism?
Because if not, I don’t see why there is any issue with protecting the jewish sites. They should not have to suffer because of people who are falsely correlating the two.
I said that in a confusing manner, but basically: There’s a good chance people are using the war as an excuse to perform antisemitic acts. Just because we don’t associate with those acts doesn’t mean they aren’t going to happen, and we should still be encouraging those acts be prevented.
You are very correct, you lost track at some point.
