I personally would not give up my pets unless things were incredibly dire. Cancelling the insurance sounds like the right move, and if they have to eat cheaper food that’s unfortunate but understandable given the situation.
When we get pets we take them under our care and they are a responsibility. I say this not in your position, so I understand it might actually be out of your control, but we’re still talking about snacks so you can’t be at the point of not being able to afford dry cat food.
I think P2P is still the way to go. Sure it’s not perfect, but it’s simpler and by it’s very nature doesn’t require the infrastructure we know will be a problem.
Plus, don’t forget screen sharing in discord isn’t very good as is (720p30) if you’re not a paid user.

Agreed! I’d say it’s moved from advanced to tinkerer level now, where if you have a use case and know it’s limitations, it can be pretty neat.
Voice control of devices you have in home assistant is cool, but I don’t think I would recommend it to an average person who uses Google assistant. Sure it can turn the lights on and off if it’s aware of those entities, but this user is describing playing games, asking for media streams, podcasts, all things home assistant voice does not support (certainly not out of the box).

It’s a lot better now. I have an original Galaxy S and moving from it to a Nexus was a breath of fresh air. I was never I to the Samsung bloat.
However, the Pixel line has been stagnating and Samsung had been working hard to add little quality of life features that honestly Android should have had a long time ago. The bloat is way less and a lot can be uninstalled. With a custom launcher on it it’s actually better than my Pixels (IMO).
Google is just not interested in making Android more usable or real features. They want more AI and assistant nonsense. Dex is just something that Android should have had years ago, so it’s good that they’re starting but they’re way behind.
Having used Dex on my Samsung I’m not even going to consider going back to Pixel until they have this working well. If you have a use case for it, Dex is awesome.
