Agree. I think being more judicious about what we share may simply be a good practice for using the internet in general now. A general lack of privacy seems here to stay, and I don’t think that’s because users were complacent or didn’t boycott things. It’s way bigger and older than that. I think it’s very good to be aware and to criticize, especially, entities like meta and google and some governments who are in the business of stockpiling identifiable data, but as i see it this is not really a lemmy problem. More like a general modern existence problem.
