This release adds more haptics in general to the app. It also makes haptic feedback more configurable.

Changes so far:

  • Added a new settings page dedicated to haptic feedback.
  • Added haptics to more actions.
  • Adjusted strength of haptic feedback to be inline with Android’s guidelines.
  • Added a new experimental feature that automatically marks duplicate posts as read. A duplicate post is a post that has been posted to another instance that is essentially the same as a post that has been read.
  • Fixed a bug where links cannot be opened if the preview link setting is set to “Preview all”.
  • Fixed a bug where thumbnails sometimes won’t load.

I also found haptic a bit too strong. Maybe add a strength setting or choose something more subtle?

Yep. I noticed I was using the wrong vibration setting for actions and I am adjusting that in this update. It should be softer I think.

I have a lot of test devices including:

          • Pixel 7
          • Pixel 3
          • Pixel (1)
          • Moto g power 2021
          • moto g5
          • Xiaomi Redmi note 5 (I think?)
          • Samsung A53
          • S24 (my daily phone)

I don’t test on all these devices equally though. My most frequent test device is probably the S24 and Pixel 7. However sometimes I also test a lot on the moto G power because it’s a popular device.
