The Auschwitz Memorial on Thursday criticised social media platform X, formerly known as Twitter, for failing to remove an antisemitic post on the site.

    https://twitter.com/AuschwitzMuseum/status/1692153073060266455

    For @X such antisemitic message:

“Still about those disgusting Jews… Sad that no one talks about the 80 million victims of the second war, they are probably “worse” than this Jewish vermin. May they burn in hell, phooey.”

is no violation of the Twitter rules. @elonmusk @lindayaX @Support

Antisemitism has caused immense pain and suffering throughout history, leading to discrimination, violence, and genocide of which Auschwitz remains one of the most important symbols.

Leaving such language unchecked perpetuates the cycle of hatred and reinforces the idea that such hateful language is acceptable on this platform.

Remember: it did not start with gas chambers but hateful ideology that was expressed with words.

All this verbiage in the article and no indication as to exactly what the tweet was and why X did not rake it down. Just point to the tweet and let the reader make up their own mind.

The last time I saw a controversy over this it was about a general criticism of circumcision (i.e., infant genital mutilation and violation of human rights), its insane advocates often maliciously play the antisemitism card for instant victory without argumentation.

Nowadays, people use terms such as antisemitism, racism, misogyny, etc. with so much arbitrariness, malice or simple ignorance, that I no longer trust anything if I don’t see the original content.

The tweet is antisemitic. I posted it in a separate comment, it’s ridiculous I had to search for the tweet when it should be in the article or at least a screenshot of it.

Wow… I know there always is and always will be a minority of really hateful people, but it’s shocking that they have the guts to be so blatant. I hope it’s just a troll (but the most disturbing thing here is twitter). Thanks for the sharing.

You should really stop being so surprised. This kind of stuff isn’t nearly as uncommon as you seem to think it is.

this should be in a politics or news group. it’s not related to technology any more than new woodworking tools with some minor technological improvement.
