Before we move over to heat pumps and electric heating, a lot of work needs to be done on insulating homes.
A heat pump is not more efficient if you have to run it 24/7 to try keeping up with heat loss from single glazed windows and drafts from knackered doors etc.
I mean if democracy is writing an X in to a box once every five years, then yes.
Personally I think democracy should be about more than that, but as one person alone it’s tough to know what to do about it.

I know it’s unrelated to the thread, but I’d personally never go to a country that doesn’t treat, women, gays, apostates etc as equals, I think these countries are absolutely terrible and I’m not fooled by them having “show cities” where they pretend that they’re not that way.

I got a perma ban from r/worldnews for being a “covidiot”, I can’t remember exactly why, but I wasn’t saying COVID is a hoax, being antivax or telling people not to wear masks or anything else like that, I just had a point of view that was slightly off kilter from the echo chambers narrative. The post was on topic, I was being civil, making the argument in good faith and had written it well. I told the mod that banned me what I thought of them. Good riddance.

The circle jerk was truly shit.
You could argue that a proportion of these women are brainwashed or whatever else but the simple fact of the matter is that not enough of them felt engaged with democratic policies.
Research requires a critical mind. Think of a person you know that has average intelligence, 50% of people are more stupid than that.
And I’m not saying that stupidity is solely an issue for the republican electorate, I’m just saying “do your own research” is an unrealistic expectation.
People need to be engaged with.

I think people are struggling to accept that I can dislike someone, or disagree with their choices without thinking they’re stupid.

I understand that intelligence is on a scale and that is not a black and white issue. I also understand that wealth ≠ intelligence, however in this case I do believe that he has at least average intelligence.
This is the last “Elon Musk is not a genius” type comment that I’m replying too, I’ve said all I have to say on the matter.
I think a lot of people hate Musk (understandably) so they call him stupid to make themselves feel better with disregard to the meaning of the word.

I agree. Most of the replies here imply that I must think he’s a genius, as if people can only either be stupid or a genius.
I do not think he’s a genius, I do think that he knows what he’s doing.
I’m actually really looking forward to lab grown meat becoming an established industry. Not just for the benefits to the environment and animal welfare but because you could feasibly grow the finest lobster meat, fois gras, wagyu steaks etc etc on industrial scales which would lead to much lower prices.
You could even get in to really exotic meats like mammoth, platypus and giraffe or whatever else.
