Amish Paradise came to me, even over White N’ Nerdy
The more people that transition over here the better it’ll be (outside of some of some subs). I’m hopeful to see more community engagement.
Seeing that non-right sided medias are picking this up is good. Hopefully it builds more traction and if they can even say something as simple as “Lemmy is an alternative” we can see healthy growth. I know r/conservative is probably loving it but in the last month I’ve seen them advocate for more violence than any other subreddits. Yet they remain free and open. Gotta love how contradicting reddit has become since the blackout.
Man the censorship is just vile too. It’s not like “Oh this incites violence” it’s “anything and everything that we and our shareholders don’t agree on is gone”.
Worst part is if any other countries went after them then they would just restrict it to US news.
I’m hoping it grows, I know I’m seeing mixed reactions to it but I understand that it’s hard for people to come out of their comfort zones. I’m just happy that the engagement here isn’t full of bots lol.
Just officially moved over from Reddit and while Lemmy is a tad more complicated to learn. It’s nothing an hour couldn’t fix.
This just was my personal tipping point and I hope others follow suit. I’m sad because I enjoyed the humorous content, individuals pets, and musical discussions. But after being told I need to watch what I upvote I couldn’t harbor the idea that free and open discussions are welcomed there.
Gotta love our “Tipping culture”. The more this country is going down I’m reminded of Mr. Pink’s quote “I don’t tip because society says I have to. All right, if someone deserves a tip, if they really put forth an effort, I’ll give them something a little something extra. But this tipping automatically, it’s for the birds.”
It’s gotten to the point where the US needs a real change and yet the 1% really don’t want that change and would rather die on their hills. Which, imo, maybe they should while others watch?
But alas, who am I to judge the wealthy when I’m just a measly common worker.
