It doesn’t really bother me at all to be honest. I appreciate being able to read discussions wherever they’re from it’s pretty much why I’m on feddit.nl, they don’t seem to defederate from a lot of stuff. I appreciate letting the user decide what to block.

This is why I don’t really understand the argument some people here make about Russia just trying to eliminate Nazis in Ukraine. What country would not only go to war and lose one million of their own people, but keep fighting that war, when they weren’t under direct threat and weren’t attacked?

I don’t think one single large nation has ever gone to war for purely humanitarian reasons. Even the Nazis in WWII provoked an attack. Everyone was all cool with appeasing Hitler until they went and attacked people.

Makes sense, I was just curious as I don’t know a whole lot about them.

Honestly having the time to take those courses was why I even left my last job to take this factory job, but then COVID happened and everything got put on hold and the “omg recession” cycle started.

I’m 39 and feel like it’s definitely too late for me. I’d be 42+ by the time I’m done and with the way the economy is and the job market in general I don’t think there would be any positive for me to go through that expense.

I basically just missed the boat, all my friends went to school for computer science when they were ~20 so they’re safe now and make an absolute killing. If I were to try that now I’d just join the like millions that can’t find work in that field… For the last 5 years every single day the news has been “omg a recession is coming, it’s coming, it’s definitely coming like tomorrow! Be afraid, it’s coming!” So I never left my shitty factory job, but now I just feel stuck…

This whole useless chain of comments was simply an attempt to inform you that there was a type of job that was lost after lightbulbs and electricity came into use because you made a comment that suggested you didn’t know it existed, that’s literally it, anything extra is you jumping to make assumptions. No one is suggesting that there weren’t jobs gained afterwards…
