    1. Put your hair up, you can also have your hair cut person (whatever they’re called) layer your hair. It isn’t a big deal, I live in Florida and if I can tolerate it in the middle of summer, you shouldn’t have any issues

    2. Depends on your hair type and skin. My partner washes her hair once a week, I was mine every other day. If your point of reference is short hair, then yes, it is harder to wash and dry. But it isn’t a big deal, even for my ADHD ass.

    3. True. And in your laundry and ass crack too. Idk how it gets in my ass crack but it does.

    4. Wear your hair up or back when you need it out of your face.

    5. Don’t set your hair on fire? That’s just a problem in general, not even a long hair thing.

    6. I brush my hair before I put it up for work and before I go to bed. Takes less than 5 minutes out of my day. E: I’ll also brush it if I’m wearing it down and I want it to look nice while going out. Even with that it’s still a miniscule amount of time

Mormons used to (some still do) practice polygamy and we had just as much, if not more of a problem with their practices as we do with “foreigners”.

From my perspective as another polyamorous person, I think polygamy is kinda fucked up, at least in the ways it manifests today. It’s an inequitable power dynamic that relies on the exploitation of women. I’m all about subversion and defiance of hierarchies. Polygamy reinforces those hierarchies

  • What part of the comment you originally responded to ever mentioned that they were an influencer/intended to profit off of their ADHD? You’re fighting ghosts bud. Additionally, you have no way of knowing if these “assholes on social media” are: 1. Lying about their condition 2. Profiting from it and 3. Only doing it for clout. Maybe you’re just annoyed by neurodivergent people being visible and having a platform?

Are you really surprised there’s a large presence of neurodivergent people in this niche corner of the internet? ADHD (and autism) are mentioned often here because a bunch of people on lemmy are chronically online neurodivergent dorks.

Maybe don’t accuse people of faking something and being disrespectful to “those suffering”. I have ADHD, my entire life isn’t suffering. I also agree that hitting a bowl when your Adderall kicks in is a nice experience. Are the pleasant aspects of my existence invalid because I’m supposed to be suffering all the time in your eyes? Are we not allowed to be proud of the way our mind works and celebrate those aspects of ourselves that we enjoy when those aspects are intertwined with our ADHD? From the bottom of my heart, eat shit and mind your own business

Or… Maybe it’s because we have a better understanding of ADHD now and a lot of adults who were failed by the system as children are finally coming to understand themselves and be taken seriously by healthcare providers.

But probably not. Your short sighted, inflammatory, bigoted bullshit is defintiely correct.
