  • There’s plenty Id really like to watch on Apple TV. In fact, I watched Severance using my parents account while they had it temporarily. But now that I’ve tried it, I know that there’s no point in me getting it because they make it as hard as possible to watch anything if you don’t have specific devices. Literally all the other streaming services make it stupid easy to watch what you want using any device. But Apple still has a decades old stick up their ass about proprietary bullshit and they want you to get an iPhone for the simplest experience. I have loads of different devices and I ended up using an old MacBook with chrome to cast the browser to my TV. And that was really annoying and I’m not about to pay for that experience. You want my money? Make it easy. It’s that simple.

  • While that is true, there are 2 things to unpack here: 1. Typically housing is zoned in different locations to businesses so this has no correlation. 2. This map is so big that none of those stores are actually in Chicago. They are all in the suburbs and it would literally take you 1.5 - 3 hours to get from the southern most one to the northern most one. They’re all a lot farther apart than you may realize.

  • This is why I started making a lot of my own things. There are lots of options in the store for some items where you can get something without sugar that didn’t need it. But then there’s things like mayonnaise… Let me tell you that mayonnaise doesn’t need any sugar and most brands that don’t have sugar are like $11 for an 8oz jar. So I started making it myself at home. I also started making bread which later turned into a hobby, but now I can’t eat the store bread because it’s too sweet. I even make my own jam now and I know what you’re gonna say “but jam is like… mostly sugar”, but I’ll have you know that jam tastes WAY better with half the sugar that it’s typically made with. It’s an art form to get it thick without adding more sugar, but it’s worth it. Looking back, I know most people can’t make all this shit and it’s really sad that people can’t buy things with less sugar at the store without paying an arm and a leg. It really says a lot about our society that this is true.

  • This is the best answer. There’s a reason that subway maps are often not an accurate representation of where stops actually are on a map, but instead are condensed and made easier to read in a way that loosely shows where the stops are and also makes each stop easy to read along with other key info that’s relevant. When you’re on a train, you don’t need accurate maps of where stop are, you just need to know where your stop is, how many stops away, or connecting trains.

Not that female anatomy is akin to a train system… Or is it?

  • I can’t tell you how much happier I was to move to a neighborhood in the city where the grocery store was a 5 min walk away. I always see old ladies with a wheelie cart walking home from the store. And one day I said Fuck it I’m getting an old lady cart! And it’s the best! I can comfortably buy more groceries and walk them home. Only time I ever need to bring the car is if we’re buying cases of beer or something else large.

  • I just bought a 2024 Prius and as a short person I can attest that it’s the best short-people car I’ve ever had. While it does suffer from most of the issues you would assume from not testing with shorter dummies, those issues don’t really get in the way like they do in other cars. The seat and headrest feel great, the seatbelt is adjustable on the side so it won’t cut into your neck, and it’s very easy to get in and out of. 10/10 car for us short people.
