I used one to manage inventory at a bar. More cost effective, single developer instead of a big corporation so I could have features added. It also never harassed me to use other products, and didn’t spam me beyond letting me know when there were updates to apply.

Goods Unite Us is another similar app, showing which companies donate to political parties. It does have some paywall issues but it’s better that nothing.

CascadianGiraffe@lemmy.worldto Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•are you permanently banned off reddit? or do you just like lemmy more?21·13 days agoI left during the first mass exodus. I miss the large active communities and the wealth of knowledge.
But I don’t eat meat, I don’t wear name brand clothing, I don’t give evil corporations any more money to than is absolutely necessary (we all need gasoline), and I DON’T GO BACK TO REDDIT.

If you plan to lease out to a farmer, find one that won’t fill it with herbicides and pesticides. And maybe look to only lease part of it while you work to recover other parts.
I’m looking to buy land that needs to be recovered and have the budget that will likely lead me to a place like this that doesn’t have direct road access. Good luck!

First, just do the right thing. Second, by labeling them an extremist you are acknowledging that they are not the normal, not the majority.
Most of the rural people (including many farmers) just want change. Sucks that they fell or are still falling for the bullshit. But many farmers aren’t Trump loving conservatives.
Support your local farmer. Have a conversation with them. Maybe you might actually understand each other and make a difference together. This is far better than giving the giant corporation your money and hoping they do the right thing with it. They won’t.

I’m actually a Cascadian hippie if you’d like to assign labels. Hell, I will even let you call me antifa. But not supporting Nazis doesn’t make me a Nazi.
I don’t hate on people with different views. I live in a very conservative area. Most of the people I talk to on a day to day basis are still wearing their MAGA hats. I’m actually not a fan of the democratic party. But at the same time I’m not dumb enough to fall in line with the new fascist agenda. There’s a huge difference between taking steps forward and burning down the system for personal profit.
Trump is an idiot with a personal agenda. Elon is a Nazi. And the people who don’t see this are mostly poorly informed. I don’t hate them for that.
But looking at your comments, it appears YOU are the one hating on everything different. Or you’re just trolling, which would make you an idiot or a child, neither of which are worth having a discussion with.

CascadianGiraffe@lemmy.worldtoMicroblog Memes@lemmy.world•Metrosexual. Or European.English1·3 months agoHere’s what many people don’t understand. Millennials and the younger generations are not more diverse. They didn’t make it popular. Sexual diversity has always existed.
The difference is that by the time you came around generations previous had been fighting for the right to exist. Those that didn’t have the ability or desire to fight for themselves simply remained ‘in the closet’ (a phrase I’m not fond of). But we made a TON of progress in the 80s and 90s so by the time you came along people were finally able to TRY and understand. Before that it wasn’t really even a question of if you would be accepted. You knew you weren’t. Again, millennials were GIVEN the opportunity to be accepted by those that came before them, quite possibly even close family members who they never realized fought for those rights even when they would never get them.
If you need a specific example to get it… My brother has a child that is non-binary. They get to have a relationship with their grandparents (my parents) ONLY because my parents understand now that refusing to accept would mean the loss of the relationship completely. If I had not made the sacrifices I did back then, that child would not have had the benefit of loving grandparents. In fact I’m often jealous because by the time my parents realized that they were wrong, it was too late for me. The damage had already been done. I will never know what it’s like to have a family, to talk to adult siblings about growing up. I’m still on the outside because my siblings were too young to really know what happened. To dig all of that up now would only damage their relationships and why would I do that? I know what it’s like to not have any support networks.
You should be happy with the freedom you were born into. I’m happy for your generation. I would go back and do it again.
And one of my biggest fears is that I might have to.
CascadianGiraffe@lemmy.worldtoMicroblog Memes@lemmy.world•Metrosexual. Or European.English29·3 months agoSpearheaded the LGBT rights?
Some of us literally battled it out in the streets in the 80s and 90s. People fucking died. We were expelled from our families.
It’s hard not to take offense to your comment. Millennials did not spearhead shit. You were GIVEN the opportunity to be yourselves.
edit: Don’t think that I don’t appreciate that we still have boundaries to push. The war against sexuality isn’t over, and the old warriors are still here. We just don’t make as much noise these days.

CascadianGiraffe@lemmy.worldOPto Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•Where can I find a list of companies supporting Elon Musk?11·3 months agoThe other 1% is meat I hunt, fish or raise myself. It’s rather rare exception and happens only a few times a year.
When I was younger on a rare occasion I might try something that a friend or family member raised or hunted, but I’ve found people will lie about that so I usually just pass.
In the last decade (not counting fish & hunting) I’ve known the name of every animal I’ve eaten and I or my partner slaughtered it. Nothing goes to waste. Pelts and skins are kept, organs are fed to the house pets and what we can’t eat or preserve goes to the garden.

Nah bacon doesn’t even smell good anymore. The closest I get to pork is jackfruit lol. Cooked up with BBQ sauce it makes a reasonable pulled pork sandwich replacement. Even my meat eating friends enjoy it.
