I was in the industry for nearly a decade and have witnessed so many similar situations. Hadn’t heard about this one though, thanks for sharing. I was around in those days and was super excited about the Kinect but we didn’t make anything in house with it so I never got the opportunity to see it function properly.

They look like jigsaw killer!
The next time someone calls me a know-it-all I shall inform them that I am actually just an LLM made of meat.

1·3 months agoYup. Late 80s/early 90s The only rule my high school had was that if you brought your guns to school, you had to park in the ‘smokers lot’ since it wasn’t technically on the same property as the school building.
It was just as it sounds, the lot across the street for the students to smoke during class breaks (the teachers were allowed to smoke in the teachers lounge).

Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•Do you believe in Supernatural things?
3·4 months agoI know that we have, throughout history, assigned unknowns as supernatural occurrences.
And I don’t think we know everything yet.
So yes? That doesn’t mean the supernatural things are supernatural., just that they exist, we don’t understand them yet.
I’m not starting, I’ve always been gardening.
Anyone have good/active community suggestions?
Unless you have unlimited wealth I wouldn’t go with a horse unless you can board it yourself. Otherwise you’re just leasing and will miss out on most of the bonding that makes up a large part of the horse relationship. It’s all the cost and then some for a third of the reward.
A friend inherited off-grid property. I was already into the idea of homesteading and survivalism and had been building those skills sets for years. What started as a little bit of helping on the weekends turned into full time living. I didn’t think I could do it and it was hard.
But now I know what I’m capable of and how much nicer life is when you live it. I’ve been back in regular society for a few years and my phone is still on ‘do not disturb’ mode all the time.
I did it for nearly 3 years with limited access.
You get over it eventually and start living life instead of watching other people live theirs.
I can’t wait to unplug again.
This video isn’t the picture. Different stone, architectural design, etc.
I’m just happy someone else said it.
I mean…have you seen the price of a good faucet lately?
Oh yeah that’s frustrating.
At least the one I posted is easy to identify. (Dude I Got Some Fucking Banana Bread At Work Today…)

For those that don’t get it… it’s copypasta meme from that banana bread rant
They stick their faces in muck water and suck everything up while looking for food. Ducks can eat a lot of things.
We had pekin and they figured out a good food hack. We fed the flocks using gutters (then everyone can feed without fighting for space). But the pekins would straddle the gutter, stick their head in the feed with mouth open, and then flap forward and kick their feet to ‘ride’ the gutter and scoop up as much food as possible. It was highly effective.
They ate 10x more than a regular duck and were 5x louder and always involved with any shenanigans going down. Fuck Pekin ducks.
Not OP but totally sounds real.
Ducks are like that for sure. They will certainly claim a spot. And eggs just kinda come out the egg hole sometimes. Especially if they aren’t able to secure a nest to lay on a schedule.
I’ve seen eggs roll out while they are running past to get to their pond.

Seaman on the Dreamcast when it launched was pretty crazy.
It came with the mic when you bought it.
