When they closed down the API for third party apps I packed my things, I thought reddit would be different, but to me, at that moment they proved they were not different.
Lemmy is not perfect and the whole dev team has some pretty insane views. But you know, it’s FOSS, so it’s not about the devs as much. Perfect is the enemy of great, and Lemmy is a healthier choice then Reddit imo.
Apparently al these systems use about the same radio spectrum, so you could jam them all with similar signals.

Stop the service: sudo systemctl stop iptsd
Run the calibration tool: sudo iptsd-calibrate $(iptsd-find-hidraw)
The Test: Touch the screen with your fingers normally, then “draw” with your palm or the side of your hand. Watch the terminal output. It will show you the Size and Aspect Ratio it’s detecting. If your palm touches are showing up as “Contact,” note those numbers and adjust the SizeMax and AspectMax in /etc/iptsd.conf to be lower than your palm’s readings.
This improved my pen experience a lot. I’d go with a touchscreen xps or something similar next time, pens on the go are just very nice to have. And i love typing on it. But the surface did not live up to the expectation :) for me either. But, it is what I have now, so, trying to make the best out of it. I used Rnote for note taking during my last meeting and it was: ok
I switched to Fedora KDE on my surface pro and it has been a delight. So much more responsive and better battery life. Can recommend it!
I got a 7690 SK Modem/Router because my ISP recommended it and they offered to rent it out or sell it to me, which I really appreciate! Especially after being stuck with a shitty rushed ISP branded garbage router that’s supposed to do 1GB per second but then chokes on its own dust after 2 minutes of real usage, after which it would continue to perform terrible until you reset it.
It still requires quite a bit of energy to make, so while we can do it, it’s not dirt cheap. I thought I could get a lab diamond for my SO, but even those don’t fit my budget :).

I just had to take-out my whole whiteboard history by exporting to PNG per board, because I upgraded my surface pro device to Fedora 44. I thought I had it all out in the open (source), PSYCH, hahaha.
