  • Contrary to what you might expect, the left behind tends to get a bit more direct attention than the right, roughly 30% more time, independent on total duration. This is because for right handed people, the left is more awkward to engage with on the side, so making the left behind the main behind with the right behind by their right hand feels more natural and comfortable.

  • For example, if you want to put a TV inside of your game, you can’t just use an existing product as is – you need to think of a fictional TV design from scratch, including the manufacturer’s logo and everything else about the object.

This is such a bullshit problem. No other media has this issue. This wasn’t a problem before and never should’ve been allowed to become a problem. Real objects have populated the scenes of movies for decades, artists have painted scenes rendering real clothes and weapons and carriages and all with accurate shapes for centuries, before the 2000’s video games seemed to have no issue doing the same. Something changed and now we’re left with absurd assets.

Rendering real objects without any limitations or requirement for legal agreements should be a right of any artist in any field.

Okay first of all, having seen the amount of damage on real archaeological finds there’s no way an aluminum can survives for several centuries without disintegrating. In fact, it seems to be expected to take between 200 and 500 years.

But second, there’s no way that shape would be called a shield. Even if some archaeologist was silly enough to make that error there would be dozens of contemporary HBMA practitioners pouncing on the poor bastard with their arguments about practicality and various attempts at recreation and demonstration.

Unless this is assuming a sample with one half of the can worn away and the other preserved in some miraculously half-protective condition. Though I’d really expect the top and bottom to outlast the wall.

I guess I should defer to a native speaker but I personally don’t think the word fits, in the same way I wouldn’t call a sick person lazy.

But on second thought, an American absolutely would call a sick person lazy.

Especially the current majority of their democracy.

Censorship isn’t asked. It’s just enforced.

When you can’t be mean, you can’t really speak your mind about people you hate. Like political figures, and certain moderators.

Right now it seems I’m not being shut up. I guess it’s up to you whether or not to shut me up.

Just know that a lot of the people that get shut out of “decent” places are people you meet outside, and they’ve been getting weird the last few years. I’m gonna argue it’s causative. It doesn’t exactly feel great to be permanently banned. It’s not very normal or human. It’s exile at a handwave. No warmth, no humanity.

But you think I’m cold and cruel and awful because I call stupid people retarded, or I guess shitheads now.

Stupidity begets ignorance and hostility. And yeah, I’m being a little hostile.

But as far as I’ve seen, effectively preventing insults from moderately to very intelligent people are things like social, professional and academic consequences, or just being in good company. Even then, friends can insult eschother. And otherwise, they’re not exactly verbally puritan.

But in certain progressive spaces, you’ve become as stuck up and sensitive as old nobility. You people are awful to talk to. You make yourselves very hard to tolerate.
