Technology@lemmy.world•Zuckerberg says Meta made 'mistakes' in AI workforce shiftEnglish
12·8 hours agoThe Metaverse was a true supervillain plan that makes one wonder about his sanity.
He and the Google guys are some of the richest data brokers in the world, but he’s the only one who openly hates the people who made him his fortune and let’s them know by asking them to train their AI replacement. Real misanthropic and mean spirited management strategy.

World News@lemmy.world•What’s in the Iran-US deal? 14-point memorandum reportedly covers Hormuz, sanctions, $300 billion rebuildEnglish
73·8 hours agoIt’s a good deal because the US and Israel are terrorist states that engage in genocide, but it’s also good for the US because it floods Iran with dollars (which bolsters our currency).
Ideally a deal would be struck in which we lean on Israel to remove all nuclear weapons from the Middle East, and in exchange Iran dismantles their nuclear energy program.
The Israeli’s stole our nuclear technology and should be forced to give us back our nukes (our tech = our nukes), but we’ve yet to see a president willing to stand up to Israel on this matter. If we could remove all nuclear weapons from the region, the global economy would be safer and Israel would not be able to threaten its neighbors into wanting their own nuclear weapons.

6·9 hours agoMy best guess is that the US plans to abandon Israel for the rest of the Trump administration. Should Israel and Iran go to war, the US will not do anything besides send weapons (as they have done previously). They will not carry out anymore military strikes on Iran.
Should Iran respond to attacks on Lebanon by re-closing the straight of Hormuz, the US would be forced to begin withholding material support from Israel and then renegotiate a second peace agreement.

3·3 days agoUnfortunately the USA does not refine its own oil. It sells it and imports and refines foreign oil. Changing or replacing oil refineries stateside to refine domestic crude would take billions of dollars and years to construct.

3·4 days agoIt feels more like the Canadians attacking Iran than it being a just resolution to a tort case. Have the Canadians done this to any other country? I know the US has held and tortured plenty of people during the war on terror and I can’t recall any US assets being seized to pay victims’ restitution.

1·5 days agoAbsolutely not. The US creates war through coups, military intervention, and puppet states.
Left to their own devices, many states would have socialist governments that focus on their quality of life, whereas the empire is purely extractive.
Currently the US is going after several Latin American governments. These states would be better off without US interference. This is just a fact.
