ICO is ignoring data complaints.
Theres another story next to this on my lemmy feed about giftshops pheonixing repeatedly with dirt poor immigrants as the “owners” and never paying taxes. HMRC doesnt seem to have the people to check.
Ofcom is spending all its time fining foreign websites.
Its going to need a bit more than a law.

10·17 days agoPreventing removal (from lists) was just necessary.
Its not unreasonable to say if you release a mod and others depend on it you cant change your mind. Imagine if anyone could remove their contribution to the linux kernel at any point.
Its not about them taking ownership, its about them preventing petty drama which is actually the most important job for a mod site.

19·25 days agoSwift isnt visa/mastercard its something else. Its based in europe so despite being dominated by american banks the eu would be ok using it, but china etc. do not want to rely on it and are making an alternative.
The eu is planning alternatives to visa/mc, not swift.
