Yes, and if anything were to eat me, it would have the same experience I have eating a chocolate.bar with coconut in it :(

There is no greater disappointment for me than biting into something without suspecting a thing, and my taste buds then suddenly being assaulted by the vileness dubbed “coconut flavor”.
In case my remains are consumed by animals or plants, I can’t put them through something I hate so much. I mean, do we even know how long this will make you taste like coconut?!
I would rather die

Europe@feddit.org•France's new energy law slashes targets on renewables in favour of nuclearEnglish
1·2 days agoNuclear is a terrible option for load-following base generation. You have to run a nuclear plant at full utilization as much as possible to get the cost anywhere close to renewables + gas peaker plants, since as soon as you start to throttle your nuclear plant, the cost explodes. And with the development of renewables + storage those peaker plants won’t be needed for very long.

Linux@programming.dev•Linux 7.0 Officially Concluding The Rust Experiment
7·8 days agoIt’s pretty much undeniable that the GPL has been a massive driving force behind companies giving back to projects, and it’s similarly undeniable that MIT-licensed projects have fewer comparable contributions.
Sure, the community can stay on the open version, but it will still be companies mostly taking without giving back.

Linux@programming.dev•KDE Linux To Provide Better Hardware Support & Better Performance
2·9 days agoI’m not saying you’re wrong on all or even most points, but just by itself this comment is basically a marketing post.
KDE is relatively smaller in scope than GNOME.
By what measure, and which parts of the projects are you taking into account?
Besides, GNOME has taken on its own hurdles like compatibility across devices,[…]
KDE has also taken on its own hurdles. By the way, compatibility across devices is one of the best examples of feature creep if you don’t need it, as most Desktop users don’t!
[…]the userbase is also different so they’re less likely to contribute towards areas like gaming for example.
Don’t see how that’s relevant to the development speed of the environments and their customizability.
What lets GNOME dominate developer wise right now[…]
Again, by what measure? Does it result in faster development of helpful features for my workflow?
[…]and outreach programs like GNOME circle.
KDE also has outreach programs, so this also doesn’t show much.
