Because the rich want to distract us from the real class war by redirecting anger at old people. Old people who lived in quite possibly the easiest lives with the most generous minimum living conditions and social safety nets that have existed, and were tricked by the rich to give it all up so they’re kids wouldn’t have it, because most of them have brain damage from lead in fuel.

That’s two different things. We SHOULD use violence to defend ourselves against fascism. But that doesn’t mean killing all the conservatives once in power. That’s hierarchal thinking.

Songs are made from repeating patterns of beats and melody. The time signature tells you what that pattern looks like. If you just memorise all the notes I suppose it matters less. But if you wanted to improvise like with a guitar solo or whatever that’s the rhythm you can use to improvise with.

It’s the rhythm equivalent of the key/chord progression for the melody. If you know the chord and when/how it changes through a song, and you know the basic rhythm building block you can just make up notes that are guaranteed to sound great with the other instruments playing.

But then the fucking DA’s “legal analysis” says:

I had suspected that the DA was as ass when they said “I have asked a senior prosecutor from my office to prepare the case for Grand Jury presentation”

Grand jury deliberations are secret and there is no legal requirement to provide any or all evidence to the grand jury. Neither the victim nor the accused get to present evidence or have lawyers review or present anything. They can also arbitrarily select the members from a random draw. This is probably one of those DA throwing the case and shrugging “we did our best” the grand jury wouldn’t indite.

That’s true. It’s the DA paraphrase of her testimony. Her testimony will likely not become public prior to the trial. I never said it’s the full picture either, it clearly doesn’t include the group chats that happened on the other side of the door. It just shows what she says (or the DAs summary of it at least) happened on her side of the door.

I also don’t agree with the DA. That story has enough evidence of people pressuring her into doing more drugs and drinking more to get her into a more compromised state. That alone should have been enough for charges. You can’t just have someone say “stop” and respond with “do you want more drugs?”.

I initially agreed with “don’t raw dog life” but this is a good viewpoint.

I don’t know if it’s always possible or desirable to not put up with stuff, but I can see that eliminating your coping mechanism would encourage you to leave the situations you can leave.

Still, when you can’t, life is much easier with intoxicants.

It is insane to me that someone can buy a $2000 purse made from $50 of raw materials with AT MOST 16h of labour and instead of paying an Italian $350 and make $1500 from ONE PURSE they instead want to pay a Chinese worker $100 and make $1850 from the purse.

Like it’s such a small increase in the actual profit margin it’s insane to me that they wouldn’t want real artisans making legitimate works of art “worth” $2000 instead of just paying the cheapest labour possible and making what amounts to knockoff quality “brand name” purses.

I have long had head canon that Trump basically is only doing stuff to make people riot and he actually had more faith in the left’s willingness to fight back than was warranted. (Taking away abortions, trans rights, right to teach the history of slavery, “DEI”, migrant incarceration camps, deploying the army against citizen) … But like making a bill that kicks everyone off of food stamps and health care JUST BEFORE THE ELECTION… Like… I’m not saying he’s doing it if purpose, what I am saying is if he were trying to start a riot with plausible deniability would he do anything different?

In modern times, with the huge focus on 1-4, I think #5 is the real nugget of gold. Sometimes it’s more important to actually show kids the elements of a good life than anything else. Plus if you live a good life you’ll be a better person/father to be around.

Certainly you can go too far. But if you’re not being an absentee father then don’t neglect the importance of showing how to live a good life by example rather than through instruction alone.
