They can’t vote in general elections either.
They can’t vote in general elections either.
Who was disenfranchised? It was the biggest democratic vote in the UK’s history, if I recall correctly.
The stupidity of politicians is not a reason to ignore what people vote for.
The TV show Defiance.
I loved that show and the third season was probably the best one, and yet it still got cancelled. 🙁
Labour have just won a 174 seat majority on 34% of the vote with FPTP.
There would be no benefit to them in changing the system.
But what would be the point of having a referendum, getting the results and then just saying “oh right, that’s interesting” and doing nothing?
Concord.
…what? I liked it. 😉
“symbolic” being the key word.
This won’t lead to anything.
We need marches like this all over, especially in the U.S.
The US is the only place where these marches are relevant.
So you wouldn’t actually change anything, you’d just be closing down avenues of debate and saying “I’m right, you’re wrong”.
I think you’ve just wasted your money.
Everyone?
Because I don’t think Mick Jagger needs UBI anymore than he needs his winter fuel allowance.
Can’t you ask them to do it?
I’m pretty sure I know people who have done that.
it was denying the existence of nonbinary people, which is transphobic.
Eh? Trans is someone who transitions from man to woman or vice versa. A person just saying they’re non-binary is not trans, because they haven’t transitioned. There is no third state to transition to.
My comment is none of those things…
“Non-binary” is not a thing, except for attention-seekers.
The fact that she has resigned suggests it’s not just a “minor offence” and there’s potentially more to it that we don’t know about.
This is one of the worst comparisons I’ve ever heard.
I suspect most of the people signing it don’t even live in the UK and are doing it for a laugh.
Switzerland says hi.
Democracy on steroids.
That would be denying UK citizens a right to vote in a UK referendum, so that’s not even close to the same thing.
