  • I had that same exact reaction. Like, I loved DOS2 and know it had horror elements in it, but the overall tone was much more humorous and cartoony. Seeing this trailer lean so heavily into edginess and shock value was pretty disheartening.
There’s enough awful shit out there in the real world, so I really cherish the few RPG series that reject cynicism, postmodern storytelling and grimdark aesthetics for a more positive and hopeful message.

At least we still have Dragon Quest and Xenoblade I guess…

  • I will take this opportunity to point out that every HD release of Fellowship’s extended edition has suffered from severely altered color grading compared to the original DVD version.
The theatrical 1080p Bluray versions are fine, but Fellowship’s extended edition Bluray was mistakenly shipped with a strong green tint throughout, which was never addressed (should have been a recall).
In 2020 the movies were rereleased as 4k “remasters”, and while these versions fixed the green tint, the color grading is still different from what the movies originally looked like, and beyond that Peter Jackson made additional changes like turning every flashback scene black&white and adding a blurry vignette. Certain practical effects were also digitally replaced, reminiscent of the Star Wars special editions. These versions also suffer from excessive Digital Noise Reduction which makes actors faces look like wax figures, and removes all film grain. The movies now look like they were shot on an iPhone.

There is a Color Restoration fan edit for Fellowship which restores the original DVD colors, but you will have to find the torrent for that yourself.

Hopefully we’ll eventually get proper unaltered 4k scans of the original film prints. Until then, stick with the 1080p Blurays and the Fellowship fan edit.

  • It has bilingual typing, but it works a bit different from most keyboard apps. You need to add the second language as a subtype to your main one in the Languages & Layouts settings.

It also has swipe typing, but you need to download a proprietary swipe library and place it in the folder yourself. It doesn’t ship with it because it’s not open source iirc. It’s linked on the github.

The prediction really isn’t that great, yeah, but I’ll rather deal with that annoyance than use Google software.
