Using Linux for 30 years, I’m with MX and Xfce for years.

Lol I thought it did not exist anymore, like in Canada (where I am)
I have a Sanwa Gravi, I had to “grind” some place in the “hole” because the ball was touching it and it was annoying, but it’s the best trackball, index ball, and LMD and RMD and wheel are controlled with thumb.
Same, I’m using MX Linux with native .deb and never ever installed a flatpak, so I have no clue what it is
I went through sh->csh->tcsh->bash
I am an embedded developer, I take the HW from office to bring at home, in the basement I have my “home office” with benches, soldering station, oscilloscope, etc so I can fully develop here. Working on a kitchen corner table would not be doable, true
Software developer here, WFH since March 2020, I don’t want to go back to office. If I would apply for a new job, my first question would be “is this 99% remote?” because I don’t mind once a month going there from like 10 to 2 to avoid trafic jam.
Wow… I’m looking and post to slashdot.org, daily, since 1998 or something…
So rare, all the 2024 are sold since months in Canada, I don’t even know if you can buy a 2025 as maybe they are all already reserved.
Cool, I have Birdnet and whenever I hear a bird I launch it, it’s cool! I’m also an old dull man.
Alien, Star Wars, too
End of 80s was un*x, I started using Linux as a main OS with kernel 0.99
Al Bundy is my hero, and boy do I had/have a crush on Kelly, incredible
Why did you start using linux? it was the 80s/90s, windows didn’t exist, I used un*x at uni, of course I couldn’t install HPUX, AIX, Solaris or IRIX on my 386, so I installed Linux. There was minix but it was not free. Also BSD was tempting.
Origin? A couple of floppy images downloaded from usenet :) there was no distro really.
IIRC since the beginning, he always had severe hair loss even when young and always wear a wig
Shatner is bald
I remember, I saw the theatrical once, in theater.
To where? If you migrate to Canada you have to pass medical exam and all
I’m using MX, debian based, apt package, I have 0 flatpak/snap. They are up to date on about everything, like the latest Firefox I got this morning in a simple .deb that nala (apt frontend) installed without problems.
I never ever installed a snap/flat in my Linux years.
It’s 120V and 240V
