This will give you a full pr diff. Paste that into what LLM you’re using. I usually prompt with something like
“You’re a senior web engineer. Give this PR a review being aware of modern code practices and syntax. Try to uncover possible bugs. Give 3 to 5 actionable suggestions.”
There’s probably a way to do this in the tools, I’ve just found this works.
MeatsOfRage@lemmy.worldto Technology@lemmy.ml•‘An Overwhelmingly Negative And Demoralizing Force’: What It’s Like Working For A Company That’s Forcing AI On Its Developers - Aftermath48·1 month agoThese people all work for what seems like huge (video game) businesses. It’s a pretty entitled position to say results aren’t the most important thing. The fact is, they are. If you want the freedom to do things your own way at your own pace, go make your own indie game. I guarantee these “journey over results” types would end up with feature creep and never ship a finished product though.
On the coding side, I’m a senior dev who has been in the industry for 20 years. Not video games but for the web. Easily 40% of the code I ship now is AI written. I’ll use a different AI to review my PRs saving my coworkers time catching the little mistakes I overlooked.
I’ve cut days off my workload over the past year and to say all AI is slop is being intentionally obtuse to the tools. Basically we’ve all been promoted to manager roles and LLMs are the mid level workers we oversee.
This article is trying to paint a picture that these tools are without value and I can feel your finger hovering over the downvote button but the fact is the genie is out of the bottle. They’re not going away and today is the worst they’ll ever be. People that say they’re slower with these tools are going to get left behind by people who are proficient with them.

Yup! Also the other host Christian appeals to the Sega kid in me. He’ll uncover gems that evoke the Dreamcast era.
People are more likely to go online and complain than to compliment. But why take internet comments so seriously. I have a handful of trusted sources that I use to get my opinions on games. DLC Podcast for example is a favorite of mine. I’ve gotten to know their tastes and where they overlap with mine so when they get excited about a specific thing I’ll know if I’m likely to enjoy it based on our shared interests.
When you get a handful of voices that have a strong overlap with your own taste then you can get outside of the tribalistic bitching of the hive. Comments don’t even concern me anymore.

Edit
They were also featured on a track from the same album. I’d say there’s a good chance it’s them.
You’d come in and slap down your penny and they would go “we can’t charge less than a penny so do you want one or two?”

We've added an automatic tag on SteamDB based on the AI gen content disclosures on the store pages."English6·3 months agoSorry you’re getting down voted but it’s fact. I work in the tech industry and I’ve got some friends in the games industry. Everyone uses AI in some way. People want to fool themselves into thinking it’s just a handful of mega corps but it’s being used in everything we consume in small ways we can’t see in the end result. The genie is out of the bottle and the line between what is AI and what isn’t AI is going to vary wildly from person to person.

We only see AI when it’s someone who’s not very good with Mid Journey prompts. We’re getting to the point where people are using these tools in ways that no one will know the difference.
Content aware fill in photoshop has been around forever. AI.
If ask chat gpt what this unreal engine error message means. Al.
if get a quick llm made script to tune up Some physics, Al.
If the guy making the music generates some starter melodies. AI
If l generate a rock texture and clean it up myself to the point where no one knows. Al.
All of this is AI and all of this will go unseen to the end user, so once again we’ll be expecting developers to self report and only the honest ones will.
Here’s a test give yourself 1 or 2 seconds to make up your mind. https://www.sporcle.com/games/Raydon/image-real-or-ai-generated
It’s tough isn’t it and this is you analyzing the pixels, something we don’t do passively.

This is based on the developer saying so and there’s no obligation to do so. Black Ops 6 is loaded with Gen AI, the loading screens are obviously Mid Journey like and some of the actors have been replaced by digital performances which was in the news. They won’t get tagged here for AI because it’s not in the description.
So basically this is going to just have people filtering out devs who are honest and realistically that’ll just be a few indie devs who had to use these tools because they’re a one man team that can’t afford artists.
I think we have to face the facts. Every game is going to be using these tools going forward. If you run a large studio and say no one use AI I bet you your artists are still speeding up making base textures. Your music guy is generating some starter melodies. Your writers are drafting up some filler to pad out the supplementary text.
These tools are as ubiquitous as photoshop (which has had content aware fill all the way back to CS-fucking-5) and unreal engine now (which has added it’s own AI features). The idea that’s there’s only a handful of shady individuals and mega-corps using these tools is naive.
MeatsOfRage@lemmy.worldto Fediverse@lemmy.world•[edited] We are excited to announce pixelfed.ca, a new Pixelfed instance run by Canadians and hosted in CanadaEnglish4·3 months agoThey have reels running on pixelfed.social (in the browser)
Exactly. This is the result of human interference, AI inherently doesn’t have this level of censorship built in, they have to be censored after the fact. Like imagine a Lemmy admin went nuts and started censoring everything on their instance and your response is all fediverse is bad despite having the ability to host it yourself without that admin control (like AI).
AI definitely has issues but don’t make it a scapegoat when we should be calling out there people who are actively working in nefarious ways.
Just curious what issues you’re having with the Epic store. I’ve bought a few games now and thought the process was pretty smooth.
