Language for sounds doesnt work like that though. If I hear a pop song and say “dang that’s a great snare” it isn’t wrong if technically the sound is actually a synthesized snare. When you hear something you can name it without it having to be physically present. Plus plenty of things ring without being a bell.

I know this is a joke but deflation can be scary too. Basically if it becomes a pattern then consumer spending will crater since people know if they wait their money will be with more in the future. Obviously this effect is less on stuff people have to buy to survive but it’s still not desired.

The Lost World was like half that but then it turns in to some weird almost king kong-esq thing. Also i love me some Goldblum but he’s better as a foil imo and Chris Pratt has nowhere near the gravitas as Sam Neil. That’s not how acronym pronunciation works though. We don’t pronounce them based on the words they stand for, otherwise we would pronounce NASA, SCUBA, LASER, etc. differently. Both pronunciations have valid arguments so why can’t we just accept both and stop being weird about it.
