Predictable.

Predictable.

You cared enough to litter this comment section with childish one word posts. Don’t you think your time and energy are better placed elsewhere?
But it is an explanation. People use mbfc as a way to simply wrap themselves in a blanket, to excuse or feel ok about ignoring anything that feels “icky”, rather than actually taking the time to read through multiple sides and sources to sift through the biased language most media platforms use, whether it’s left right center up down or what-have-you.
It’s basically a time-saving ignorance shield for the vast majority of people who don’t really care to put the work in. Subtlety and nuance is lost in convenience.

Ah, lemmings, got it.
Drowning the truth in an ocean of misinformation seems to work much, much better than censorship at fracturing reality.

For those following this thread, note that the above .world commenter literally cannot see my comment because .world decided certain instances needed to be silenced.
Funny how that works.

I think they’re experiencing a significant gravitas shortfall.

Politics?? In MY language conversation? Well, I never…
C’mon now.
Ah… right. Sometimes I forget how lemmy works.
Tell me you’ve never tried to look into actual communist history without telling me you’ve never tried to look into actual communist history…
So, basically, this person is happy to blind themselves to other viewpoints to avoid viewpoints they disagree with/people they claim are blind to other viewpoints.
… what an enlightened individual!
Does it really add decency??? One of my favourite shows, Arrested Development, uses bleeps over swear words as pure comedy; the black bars are similar to me, they draw attention to the oddity rather than just call it what it is.
Nudity in general is fuckin silly, people should know about their bodies, everyone knows what a naked human looks like from looking at themselves, censoring non-pornographic nudity is stupid and only serves to intrigue and create mystique where it should simply inform and demystify.

Horseshoe theory is garbage, and so is your understanding of history, as well as where most of the nazis went after ww2 (Ukraine, NATO countries, including Canada).
Judging by your other responses in this thread, you need to stop kneejerking and actually do some journalism. I realize my comment isn’t gonna be the one that gets you to do some self-crit and maybe ask a few tough questions about the history of NATO but maybe over time you’ll come to realize we all have a lot more in common with each other than with those at the top who control narratives. Putin is dogshit, the Russian oligarchy is dogshit, but so is the vast majority of the dogshit coming from the West (the ones who also happen to have more power and, as you’re demonstrating, ideological fervor)
Until then, keep using tankie unironically against your perceived enemies, that word means very little to anyone besides fascists and the ill-informed.

Would you agree that it’s 3/4ths the US?

That vague argument could be made, but you are the one now making a claim, and I’d like to see you provide something that shows that, materially speaking, they don’t do whatever the US wants like, 90% of the time.
Like obvs there are other countries involved, but ultimately, do they do much without the consent or direction of the US? Like direct, concrete action, and not just fluff?

Meanwhile, in Canada, most of our Liberal and Conservative MPs gave a standing ovation to a speech about Charlie Kirk.
It’s all up here too, folks.
“At least we’re not the States!” My ass.
Works fine for me.
Well now it’s gone but the other link is even better lol

For the record, I agree with you, lol.
I was purposefully asking this person who seems to disagree. I wanted to know what they see in western media that seems more convincing, if anything.

So if both are just saying what their leaders want them to say, what do people do who want to find the truth?

Tom Cruise is just Tom Cruise to me, I never feel like he disappears into any kind of role - he’s just Tom Cruise pretending to be someone else who happens to look and act similarly to Tom Cruise.
With one exception, that being Les Grossman from Tropic Thunder 😆
Or just… y’know… any age and paying attention…
