My though is that they failed to understand concrete itself. Concrete works best as a monolith. Literally here, a single rock. As a laminate, it loses strength. From what I was reading, you can do concrete in multiple pours, but people were suggesting to ensure that the rebar stuck out enough between pours and then some other things like bonding adhesive and wetting the layers between pours.

I like the idea of automating the structure. Bricks can be laid as pick and place, and cement can be extruded. This creates a reverse centaur, IMO, where someone is watching the labor and becomes responsible for the quality.

The house is always going to need several different structures added: plumbing, electrical, insulation, HVAC, internal construction and facade, cabinetry, etc, etc, etc.

Being able to shit out as much of that as possible on the spot would save tons, but you still need electrical items whatever. 3D printing may not be the best solution for a house, but it might be a step to something better.

I don’t know if you have the same thing available in Germany or if the EU at large makes it easier to find things international within the Union. I would think that a village or small city might have a hard time funding these. My city is just over a quarter million people, if you don’t count the surrounding municipalities. Seattle is almost 3x as large.

There have been a handful of these attacks in the past 40 years in the USA, and many more outside. The barriers are about $2000, but simple to move and deploy as needed.

My city is much smaller than Seattle, but we see them everywhere. My guess is they are police equipment and the city had excess funds to spend on those.

It would make sense because the pursuit of square dancing in the 1940’s in the United States was part of Ford’s agenda to push out the influence of black jazz in schools.

Also, according to the Country Dance & Song Society, square dancing is only held together by layers of whitewashed black history. The Smithsonian goes further to say that Native American people also influenced the music.

But, to answer your question, Christian churches do create a community and have events where people hang out, pray, etc. As a child the church I was brought to had outreach events where we handed out food, protested, and we once helped clean up some weird factory building. It’s easier for an org like that to get people to come together. There is guilt for missing service and people constantly ask you to do this thing or that.

I’m not sure how it would be accomplished, but creating non-religious community centers would be a huge benefit.

The amount of repressed misogynistic hate porn out there tells me that there are many people that literally get off on forced female submission.

The others are right, but it is possible for hardware to have installation software embedded. It’s not as common now, but consumer Dell printers about 10 years ago (and probably others, but that’s what I ran into) had drivers embedded in an internal flash ROM. You switched between using the printer as a flash drive and accessing the printer directly using the buttons on the front of the printer.

Well, it’s my phone, so I feel I ought to be using whatever keyboards I want. My guess is my org isn’t differentiating between company assets and employee property.

Here is what I am seeing. I can select Samsung keyboard and gboard, but it appears that Heliboard is not on an approved list.

I’m not in an influential position in my company, but I was directed to someone to discuss it. My guess is that there may have been a compromise using a keyboard app in the past and this is their mitigation.

I did add one and it’s made things much better. What I’m saying is that it has much tighter tolerances. Also, I keep catching backspace when I begin words with m, and there is no immediate undo option after I erase half my typing.

It’s mostly the fact that I’m swipe lazily, and Gboard does a lot of heavy lifting translating my languid gestures into coherent speech. Bonus points for the fact that it knows I misspelled something and put the correct spelling in there. This means that I could do better if I paid more attention to what I was doing.

The real hurt IMO is being forced back into Gboard from teams.

I have been using heliboard, but I’m forced to use teams, so I have to keep switching back. The swipe gestures require much more precision than Gboard.

Except there is always a parade of individuals in middle management trying to make a name for themselves, which is usually by pushing the latest fad.
