Party leadership were cashing huge political (and probably person) checks from Israel (and funded by us tax dollars). There was no way they would have looked at or even admitted the data existed if it meant giving up foreign sourced AIPAC dollars.

Secondly, this may not be the best job market to be making a life sea change. Thirdly, congrats on the soon to be PhD, that will give you some leverage in any future professional adventures. I wouldn’t make any moves until you have that in your Bat Utility Belt -If that metaphor makes any sense. You didn’t mention any significant pressures of debt or children or health issues, so I assume your in a good spot and not under time pressures. So you’ve got time to fully plan any next adventures. Maybe during the planning process you’ll better realize whether it’s something you are willing to risk.

I was lucky enough to have the chance to visit the Oval Office (the room, not necessarily occupied with a president) a few years ago, and didn’t follow through. I immediately regretted it as I’d never have another chance of stepping in the doorway of such a sacred place. But now…. Fuck it, that place can burn as now it’s been used by these hateful people for causing so much malice.
The White House is no longer a place to be revered. No matter who is in it in the future.
