Probably by the common mindset that mobile games don’t really count for gaming clout.
If i compare what crap games i’ve played on my PC sometimes to mobile games, i feel that such boundaries are pretty arbitrary. There are some mobile games that can keep up with PC gaming too - Shattered Pixel Dungeon and Hoplite come to mind.
I agree that most competitive games tend to go that way. My ex and I played a lot of League of Legends in a small friend group together (where this did not happen, thank god), and if playing with “externals” it was unbelievable what bullshit she had to deal with. and although most of the time the creeps bit off more than they could chew, it must have felt pretty bad, regardless of what me and our friends did or said.
Anyone with experience in non-competitive game settings to share?
Yeah, i remember reading an article where child devs were getting burnout from working inhumane hours, organized through discord with shit like standups and all the crap from offices, but without pay, health insurance or vacation time, on top of a shitton of bullying - and Roblox gets their cut through their marketplace
If i remember correctly (it’s been a while), then the Bible becomes a lot more coherent if you throw out the old testament, and keep to the new testament only - which actually is what christians should do, because the sacrifice of Jesus is a new covenant which supercedes the old one with Moses.
If you keep to the NT, then there isn’t so much ambiguity - evangelicals who cite from the OT are even more backwards than catholicism itself is.
i use my 27 inch monitor as a shield while using my logitech joystick as a cudgel. if needed, i use my steam deck as a throwing weapon and short the battery of my Vape to use it as a fragmentation grenade.
Hi you, this is me too, didn’t want to buy new hardware too just because MS wants me to. i went with Nobara because it liked my Nvidia GPU a lot more than many other distros, and deleted my windows partition after 3 days - i expected it to take a lot longer than that to feel safe doing that, but it just works and i can do more with my PC than i ever could with windows.
We are doing our part :-)
the replaceable batteries will be coming back (thanks EU, don’t know if it will spill over to the US tho), and regarding the headphone jack there seems less and less market - wireless headphones have started to win out with features like ANC, passthrough and long battery times (i have to charge mine about once a week, and they are not new), on top of getting rid of the cable that annoyed more people than it endeared. You still can use cabled headphones with an adapter, so i don’t think it’s a catastrophal loss.
Yeah, i’m pretty sure the EU wont approve of locking down PCs that way. I’m also pretty sure that Googles current moves regarding the registration of developers and locking down sideloading will not be seen positively in the current climate, where the EU seeks to become more independent from Silicon Valley. The EU has been adamant in their view that users should not be limited to one market on phones; i believe that trying to lock down PCs would lead to legislation forbidding that.
thanks, i just filled out the questionnaire - data retention is illegal and it has to stay this way.
I don’t know what VPN you use, but i have zero issues running Proton VPN and accessing catbox. Maybe some VPN nodes are used to attack Catbox and they are temp banned?
If it comes to keeping contact information in order, that is something that only consumers can do; it would be pretty creepy if Corpos knew my new email address without telling them.
It has nothing to do with what i think about 3rd party launchers. Those are 2 different things, no need to get personal.
The license is bound to Rockstar social accounts, which are bound to an email address. That is pretty visible when you create your account for the game if i think back to my installation. Control of the Steam account is circumstancial evidence, ownership of the email address is proof of ownership.
I simply repeat: it is OPs job to keep their accounts in order and contact information updated. The license is bound to an email account. Keep your info updated for stuff you actively use, or run into trouble. There’s nothing else to say in this matter.
that was gouranga
But Rockstar cannot be sure that the Steam account hasnt been taken over, so access to the Steam account years after the purchase is not proof of ownership to them.
But they are also required to make sure noone else gets access to the account, and so it’s OPs job to prove ownership of the account - which he can’t, or else the situation would have been resolved after Rockstar supports questions.
This doesn’t happen to me because i made the mistake of not taking stuff like account creation seriously 20 years ago and i learnt my lesson, OP will have learnt his now. Since you seem to share the notion that it’s not important if you lose access to an account which active software is bound to, WITH NO OTHER REAL WAY TO PROVE THAT YOU OWN THAT SPECIFIC LICENSE (you can’t even be sure from Rockstar’s side that the Steam account hasn’t been hacked and now the criminal wants to get the GTA credentials, and Rockstar does not have an ID stored to compare OP’s to), you will probably learn it too sooner or later.
That the support asked him for the original username (that’s something they HAVE stored and is bound to the owner, because it was defined at account creation) to confirm his ownership (on a pretty weak basis i might add), is the way Rockstar wants to remedy those situations unbureaucratically. But OP can’t give them an straight answer because he has ignored the situation for so long that he can’t remember that info anymore.
The legal office of any Corp worth their salt forbids the (outsourced, but where it’s inhouse the rule is the same tbh) support to login into user accounts, because that’s one way to be in real trouble if your support takes over user accounts and pulls shady shit with them.
The Crew name is public information, so it’s of no use to them, and sending your password in cleartext per email is either a sign of being mentally unwell or you don’t care because you got it from a hack somewhere. If I were the support here, i would suspect someone other than the owner of the account wants to take over the account (no definite answer to my questions and infobombing are social engineering tactics), and go into high alert mode, which happened here.
I don’t defend 3rd-Party launchers, those are unneeded trash. But as a veteran support, I have to defend them - they are not responsible for picking up OPs slack that hasn’t been cleaned up for years.
But this whole situation started with him ignoring that he didn’t have access to the mail address connected to his account, and i bet that this has been this way for years, not a few days. And he couldn’t even spit out one definite answer for the original nickname used when creating the account (which tells me it definitely has been years). They didn’t ask for the wrong things, OP couldn’t answer them.
