Just sucks me right back to a time in my teens. Such a seductive vibe, those discordant intro notes and that beat is almost psychodelic. Plus she’s so cool and attractive it hurts.
This hits pretty hard this week. First day back after vacation and straight back on the treadmill of dealing with people who apparently put way less effort into trying not to be an asshole as I do. Either that or they’re putting the same in, but their natural state is that of a deranged despot.

My kids are mainlining it most days (when they’re allowed TV). They’re pre-teens and they love it. I don’t mind so much, basically because nostalgia - and at least it’s not Teen Titans Go, which was so fast it gave me a headache

TIL Futurama was renewed. I’m so out of the loop these days it blows my mind.

Agree. This guy should go back to Reddit. I’ve been here for a few weeks and he’s actually the first aggressive asshole I’ve seen, so at least that’s something.

I hear you. I’m a little different these days, but can totally relate. I drink beer usually one night each weekend, and get nicely drunk (pretty wasted). I feel shit the next day and my working week starts grouchy and tired. Fucks up my sleep pattern as well as wrecking my “health goals” (ie being less fat). However, mid week I’m fine and come Friday I’m excited for it.
Rince and repeat for the last 15 years. Before that I was drunk 3-4 nights a week. So I guess that’s progress…

I loved it. It made me think about how life just stops. I love all the foreshadowing.

Yep. According to the T&C’s you get " full resolution photo storage" and it’s unlimited. They limit video to 5 gig.

I’m interested in how gaming has become immersive to the extent that the narrative is so deep they make decent TV shows after them.
I’m aware of the like of The Last of Us, purely from watching the show. It’s fascinating to me that you can have an interactive experience of that quality, so I’m told, so that’s something to look forward to.
I should add that I have played a handful of PC games over the last 30 years, such as Alien Vs Predator, Duke Nuke 'em and Portal. But that’s where my experience ends.
When I was a kid, my dad would sometimes take us to the pub. We’d get mangled on multiple cans of coke and gorge on scampi fries. Halcyon days!

I think around here you’re more likely to find folk who play video games rather than watch TV or movies, but I might be wrong.
I personally never play video games. I have nothing against them, just never got into it beyond old Atari ST games in my early teens.
From what I hear from friends and colleagues at work I know I’m missing out, so I’m planning to make an effort to get into some sort of game when I have the time, probably when the sprogs are older. It is sort of intimidating and I don’t really know where to begin, but I’m sure it’ll be interesting.
When Reddit killed Boost (and indeed every other non-offical app) it was a sad day. Delighted to be able to use it again on Lemmy.
Just tiny banners at the bottom. Genuinely didn’t notice until just now.

Some interesting and technically impressive replies here. I’m painfully aware that in this context my reply will seem appallingly gauche, but… I use Amazon Photos.
I’ve got an old NAS that has all our precious photos and vids on, but Amazon Photos comes free with prime and, as the multiple firesticks we’ve got for IPTV have a screen saver that can slideshow your pictures, it means that we actually view the many thousands we’ve got on our main TVs.
What can I say - it just works, it’s convenient and accessible. I’m sure if I was a professional photographer I’d have a way different approach, but that ain’t me.

Weirdly, my sensitivity to caffeine has gone through the roof in my 40s. I just turned 48 and, if I drink just one cup of coffee after mid-day, I’m not going to get to sleep until about 3am.

“Do not grieve. Soon I will be one with the Matrix”
I blame the billionaires, but I despise the bootlickers who somehow think the billionaires got there fair, and square through hard work and that we’re all just jealous. It’s infuriating. I don’t hate successful people in the slightest. But multi-billionaires are parasites.
