  • A little unrelated, but I used to live like a block away from a McDonald’s. Which fucking sucked when I was high late at night (they closed their lobby at 7, so “late” for this Christian-family-owned franchise that blasted Christian worship music literally all day every day was any time after then) and I couldn’t just walk my ass down and get some fuckin nuggets.

And fuck me, or any other pedestrian during the pandemic, because at one point they didn’t even have their lobby open, so you could only order through the drive-thru or the app, and fuck you if you don’t have a car but use the app

  • I had multiple people leave it at the door across from mine at an apartment I used to live at. Once, someone left food at my door, and knocked which is surprising where I live, when I hadn’t ordered anything. That time it was for the person across from me, and they opened their door because they were waiting for a knock.

Other times, I had people just straight up leave the food at my door, no knock of any kind, and they wouldn’t even mark it as delivered. I found out later after going looking for my food and seeing it cold on the floor.

Once, a driver actually stole my order. They picked it up because I saw them pull into the restaurant on the map, then a minute or so later cancelled the pickup. The next person who went to grab the order messaged me saying the restaurant told them someone picked it up already, but thankfully they were able to make another for me. I was pretty pissed that time.

  • I went on a Disney cruise for a family vacation this past week, and we got to see Fantastic Four, Freakier Friday, and Tron: Ares.

Fantastic Four was fun, but it’s kinda just another MCU movie.

Freakier Friday I had literally zero expectations for, but I honestly found it very fun and endearing. It’s similar to the first one, but different enough to feel fresh and new, and there really wasn’t that much Millennial/Gen Z/Gen Whatever humor in the movie either, which I appreciated. They brought back all the actors who were in the first movie, including Lohan’s old band mates, and her old crush (who, imo, has probably the funniest parts of the whole movie). I’d honestly recommend anyone who was even slightly entertained by the 2003 one to watch this sequel.

Tron: Ares was cool to watch, but a lot of the Jared Leto scenes made it feel painfully obvious that this was his movie that he wanted to make. Like it’s literally just Jared Leto talking about the stuff he likes like Depeche Mode (there are literally two scenes where they talk about DM, but the second one at least kinda makes sense imo). The action was cool, the effects were well done, it was cool to see programs interact with and be in the real world, and it had some very interesting mechanical ideas. The soundtrack was pretty good too, it felt kinda like a chunkier/grittier version of Legacy.

  • I liked the “magic fight” in the first movie, because it shows Dave Franco’s character is incredibly capable of turning/working for the government. Like the way he disguises his voice after hearing the other guy say a couple things or disappearing right in front of him, and the cards. Imo they should have used their magic for more espionage and covert shit than whatever the hell they ended up doing.

The second one is dumb as hell, but still fairly entertaining if you actually turn your brain off for most of the physics and such.

I don’t really have high hopes for this one, but I’ll probably watch it on streaming eventually one day when it comes out.
