A rare glimpse of sanity from a US court
That’s actually very interesting, i would not have expected that.
yeah same!
I really wish glock would update the look to something more aesthetically pleasing, though i imagine at this point the “look” is part of the brand.
It is always really interesting when a system like that fails, and Im curious to see what they come up with as an explanation for why.
That roughly matches my experience - once the stories out it’s much easier to “fix” than it is to do fixes every day
Yeah really. You’ll notice that he doesn’t mention how he transitioned from barely scraping by to success, because it was surely just…a lucky break.
Not to mention, she literally had nothing to do with HP’s success as a franchise - that was down to her publisher and the marketing the publisher did. There’s 100 books a year published that are as good or better than HP’s first book, but they just won’t have the combination of good marketing and publisher support that HP had.
I also find it meaningless to ask successful people how they became successful, because there’s always a strong element of luck and random chance. Not only can a person only catch lightning in a bottle once, but they can’t instruct someone else how to do it.
If they could, we’d all be successful.
Depends what you’re into

There’s a bunch more (the New Jersey museum guy, Drachnifel, bunch of true crime stuff) but that’s what leapt to mind first
I have found that many people’s problems in life are in fact caused by their own choices and refusal to find solutions.
helping the only way they could from the shadows
I think we all know how this ends up - ATF coming by to make sure your shotgun barrel isn’t to long OR to short. Gotta goldilocks it.
Aww hell yeah! i’ve been waiting for this one. Once it’s been out a few days i intend to upgrade my main rig to it.
“Every block of stone has a statue inside it and it is the task of the sculptor to discover it.” - Michelangelo
I take the approach that the first draft is the rough stone of which the story will, eventually, be hewn. If the first draft is rough, that’s perfectly fine, and if it isn’t awesome, that’s something i can fix in the editing phase. So long as the fundamentals are good and the premise is workable, it’s worth pursuing.
Because AI detectors suck and are the modern day equivalent of dowsing rods?
The sad thing is, they probably did get a bonus, then set about how to further monetize it
yeah it’s absolutely ridiculous. Whoever decided that the start menu, of all things, needed to be encrusted with garbage should have been fired on the spot.
I got tired of windows pretending it knew better than me what i wanted, whether that was updates or security scans or fuck knows what else.
The final straw was when they shitted up the start menu with garbage and tried to shove their app store down my throat. At that point i was done.
I actually do not use it, not out of any kind of moral stance but it just runs slow for me.
