Most GOG games already allow you to download a pdf of the manual and extras if they had them

I know but that doesn’t change the reality. Most PCs don’t come with disc readers anymore. Anyone who does have an external disc drive can already burn a GOG game to disc if they so choose. Or put the game on a usb-stick/SD-card/external drive all of which are more convenient options than using a disc. Shipping boxes for an outdated technology is a purely wasteful exercise for a company like GOG because most of their games are older releases and have no DRM. I see the benefit of discs for new console releases because it allows people to offset the cost of a game by trading it in. That has always been one of the aspects of console gaming. But that doesn’t hold for GOG

It’s fun for nostalgia but my pc doesn’t have a disc drive, nor even the space for one. Depending on your internet connection downloading is faster than reading from a disc even. If they were to somehow re-release old collector edition boxes that would become tempting.

Laptop prices have increased over the past 6 months and total sales are down. The entire hardware market is having trouble. But I guess “price increase hur-dur 😡” just gets clicks nowadays

Control should indeed have sold more. I only have it a try last year when the full bundle was 10 bucks or something after seeing a game analysis and a snippet of the ashtray maze. It is so incredibly good, can recommend everyone give it a try. Very hyped for Resonant whenever that hits Steam.

It’s great because we can annoy the French and Italians at the same time this way

Master/slave

Yes it is! And the game isn’t lost to time, it’s available on GOG. Though I admit it was a lot better when I was 12

As I understand it, frame gen doesn’t predict frames but interpolates frames. So it doesn’t “look into the future” but inserts frames between those rendered by the game. With the selling point being 30fps could look like 60fps. The reason this works is because “guessing” what those extra frames between existing frames look like is relatively easy. The game has already done all the hard work of figuring out the actual frames, then frame gen uses a faster algorithm to make the I between frames. Because frame gen adds the frames in between the real frames you can feel more input lag.

Should be COBOL
Screw you! $1 = $1

That is over generalising. I got Control recently (great game BTW) and it technically runs but isn’t really playable. That said I still love that little machine and it is an auto include in my bag whenever I’m away from my desktop for a longer time.
He is all of us. We are one

I went to an English speaking high school for a while being a native Dutch speaker. Sadly the teachers there were very aware of the Dutch students and would sternly bit politely ask to keep it in English. Now that I’m in the real world I use Dutch as a private language quite often.
Found a bug. Switching from the left pointed finger emotes to pointed both ways or the strong arm emote gives some unicode errors. This is on firefox
Callisthenics is great. FU gravity!
