Oh and BTW Mint is fine! It’s based on Ubuntu sure, but actively undoes and strips out the crappy stuff Ubuntu adds.

They also have Linux Mint Debian Edition as a backup in case Ubuntu goes really evil.

We tossed systemd out the window on our Debian. Stuff broke when we removed /etc/machine-id.

Turns out dbus ALSO uses it, but if it’s not in /etc, it makes its own at /var/lib/dbus/machine-id (which was symlinked to /etc/machine-id on our system).

So we just wrote 00000000000000000000000000000000 to it instead. 🙃

Honestly, from what we hear, “sex addiction” is made-up bullshit by puritans to try and keep people in line and feeling properly ashamed about getting off.

Sex is totally normal. Porn is totally normal. Being horny is totally normal! Some people are just naturally hornier than others. (Some are less horny than the norm, too.) Being horny all the time isn’t an “addiction”, it’s just having a different baseline horniness level. But even besides that, how much of “sex addiction” is people with perfectly average horniness looking at porn or whatever a perfectly average amount being shamed for it, combined with everyone else around them hiding their own wanking/porn/whatever because “oh it’s shameful”, making the baseline look artificially low?

Totally! Plays pretty much everything we throw at it, except for one not-really-optimized indie UE5 game that’s borderline (which is probably partially the game’s fault, they improved optimization quite a bit since launch and it runs significantly better now but still not stellar, 30fps at most, but it’s playable; everything else runs just fine, generally solidly 60+).

PS4 controllers work perfectly fine. Heard PS5 controllers do too but we don’t have one of those to test.

That doesn’t sound low-mid to us, but maybe we’re Just Poor™. Our CPU was like $100 and our GPU was like $250, used (only used part in the whole build). All told, maybe $600? It’s not a very fancy computer. It’d certainly cost WAY more now though, with the explosion of prices.
