I am Glitch Daracova, the breachforged cyberdragon, an immortal god to which age has no meaning. Fear me and despair. If you’re lost, consult my lore (hyperlink missing). My pronouns are Maj/Majs—short for ‘majestic,’ regal and divine, as in “Maj rules majs kingdom.”

What’s the next best thing I can do to meaningfully help?

in many places even in the us, the tap water is not drinkable. Even if it’s technically safe, it might smell bad or taste funky. If you grow up in an area with bad tap water, you might not trust any tap water even after moving to a different area. In context, insisting on bottled water for drinking makes sense.
cant push a dork in a half size locker, much less the 1/6 size lickers that are common these days.
yes, because it’s fiction. Or did you think that the showrunners were claiming that this was actually a documentary about the actual lives of actual people?
glitchdx@lemmy.worldto Fuck Cars@lemmy.world•"This is so dangerous!", laments the woman driving directly into a Critical Mass bike rideEnglish485·11 days agolots of people in this thread that don’t understand how protests work.
went to my local orange store today, measured the plywood while I was there. The birch is a full 3/4, but the sandeply is 23/32 despite being labeled as 3/4.
I am annoyed.
use cabinet grade instead of construction grade for your plywood. The good shit will actually be what it says it is.
yes, you are very clever for being able to identify a piece of fiction on the internet. Your powers of logic and reason are astounding.

glitchdx@lemmy.worldto Showerthoughts@lemmy.world•When a person follows you and watches your every move, it's called stalking. When companies like Meta do it, it's just called collecting user data.English10·16 days agoring doorbells can connect to the Internet through each other. Imagine a fridge made by amazon that uses the same network. Now imagine amazon giving discounts to apartments making it more attractive to cheapskate landlords. I can imagine insurance companies paying amazon surprisingly small sums to make this happen.
glitchdx@lemmy.worldto Explain Like I'm Five@lemmy.world•Explain to me like I am a literal 5 year old. What is the hate towards Trans people? Is it just because they a different? Did they do something to garner the hate? I was raised different and change...English14·16 days agoThe problem with trying to explain it is that bigotted hatred isn’t logical. Try to get any actual bigot to explain it and you’ll get many (often contradictory) reasons.
The reality is both more boring and more sinister than what you probably expect if you’re looking for sensible reasons.
People who hate are easier to control. The powers that be choose a minority that can be bullied without consequences, create bullshit reasons for it, and encourage people to be afraid of and hateful to that minority. Those fearful and hateful people raised kids to be fearful and hateful. Those kids grew up to make their own fearful and hateful offspring. Some of these kids grew up to join the ranks of the powers that be, and brought their fear and hate to the decision making process. Combine this with the systematic destruction of public education, and you have current events in the us.
Can confirm. Worked my ass off today. Felt good.
Let’s also take into consideration that if you’re in the US, the current administration wants to make a database of neurodivergent people to make it easier to find them and send them off to camps later. It is actively dangerous to go to therapy.
glitchdx@lemmy.worldto Games@lemmy.world•Had a take about Supergiant Games that recieved a lot of pushback fromy two longest running best friends.English3·18 days agodifferent people like different things, sounds like your friends like rougish games.
I enjoyed bastion, it was probably my favorite game of its year. I don’t care enough about hades to even give it the time of day, no matter how hot they made zagreus. With few exceptions, I don’t really like rougish games. The few that I do like I’d rather they be long form rpgs so that I can have a build long enough to enjoy it for a while.
That said, studios should be allowed to make the games they want to make. Forcing them to do art against their will results in bad art.
