Even if we’re part of some weakly emergent system and hence exempt from what we normally ascribe to moral imperative, agency or personal accountability (to wit: it’s not technically immoral to just exist and have an account on Twitter, as opposed to just existing and using it as a platform to actively spread hate), tacit participation in it does mean you are part of the structure.
