Scuse my ignorance, but why put ‘won’ in quotes? Did he not actually win?

So is it safe to assume this isn’t going to be a free and fair vote?
I didn’t completely leave behind reddit. I still view, but I only comment/post on lemmy.
lol@ this. My bet what is actually happening: cost cutting or future nitro feature.
I don’t think this will happen. What they want is for PCs to be like phones, a closed system where you are pretty much locked into installing anything you want on your PC(and thus anything you buy as well) from their exclusive app store. The cloud thing just extra expense for no real benefit to them. However if there’s an opportunity to push one drive you can be sure they will. And MS has been trying to move in this direction since windows 8.
it will be a banking experience where musk will get all of your banking data. I bet that’s why he’s so into it and the “do everything” super app approach.
Someone that youtube blocks now is a customer for youtubes now/eventual competitor. You might say they’re low quality since they won’t pay or view ads, but they still share and maybe upload content.
You know what would be hilarious? Eventually blue sky buys the leftovers of twitter and renames itself twitter. Although by that time it may not be a prudent move. So maybe not.
Lol, good luck at trying to get meta to listen to what users really want.
it’s from the Ukrainian MOD. Take it for what you will.
I seriously doubt this is a good faith effort by meta to be a part of the fediverse. Give this article a read. https://ploum.net/2023-06-23-how-to-kill-decentralised-networks.html
yw. I’ll try to post regularly but no guarantees.

I’m not going to waste an hour and a half on what appears to be russia apologetics.
Yeah I agree, but to be fair he does have experience being in the military so I think he has some worthwhile input where his experience is applicable. As far as political analysis and things like that, well… I think the armchair thing is more applicable there.
But you know, just throwing things out there to try to add some content and get some convo started.
Another person I follow is ryan mcbeth, who has argued that the kakhovka dam was not deliberately blown up - and I think he makes some good points. But idk if that necessarily means that the dam was not deliberately blown. Even so, I still think he gives something good to think about. Plus he makes other good points like, even if the russians didn’t deliberately blow the dam, they’re still responsible b/c it has been under their watch for many months now.
Probably because “save the planet” and “we’re pumping more oil than ever” don’t go well together.
