But I don’t think that’s a major factor. The UK always had special privileges within the EU and was probably just the most susceptible major country for the idea of leaving.

This is what is frustrating to me. There were always loads of news articles saying how the EU were making us do something or preventing us from doing something else. They ignored the fact that the UK was involved in all of those decisions and had a greater influence over them than many other EU member states.

They were legally required to charge VAT on the whole fare but they found a loophole which passes the commitment onto their drivers.

It requires a unilateral change to every driver’s contract which is a serious abuse of the power difference in the employer/ employee relationship. This is only allowed due to another legal loophole which enables them to dodge employer commitments by claiming that they aren’t employees.

They do exhibit behaviours that make it seem like they have self preservation instincts. Presumably because they have been trained on stories (fictional and factual) where people do the same.

For example researchers testing AIs set up one scenario where the AI has access to all the company emails and found some saying that it was being replaced along with some providing evidence that the staff member who had made that decision was cheating on his wife. Apparently a large proportion of the time the AI decided to blackmail to prevent it from being turned off.

Wait. No. That can’t be right.

We were supposed to be able to get much better deals when we could negotiate our own. /s

Honestly, I don’t understand how anyone fell for that line. How can a single country have more negotiating power than 28 countries including that single country?

There have been stories of assassination attempts on Zelenskyy since the start. There’s no way he would have survived had the three day target been met.

It feels very much like Ghost of Tsushima but there are a few small differences.

There’s lots of instances throughout history that prove that humans with power suck.

I like to think that it’s because nice people aren’t the type to accumulate power rather than power corrupts nice people who do get power.

I always find this odd in the UK. Our Prime Minister must also be a Member of Parliament which means that they “look after” the political interests of a constituency. Are they not too busy leading the country to do that second job?

Same with all the other MPs in government and the Speaker of the House. Aren’t they all too busy to have a second job?

Well, it can just increase the amount of ammo you have or it could put an ammo stash just around the corner.

I stopped playing Resident Evil 7 because I’d decided that the setting that I was on was too difficult and wanted to knock it down a level. It wouldn’t let me do that without restarting the game so I stopped playing.

I don’t understand why they made that decision at all.
