I do miss all the niche subreddits. As the saying goes, “there’s a subreddit for everything.”

But I think with time, Lemmy can grow to fill that gap.

Yeah when I started getting suspended for simply upvoting Luigi comments, I realized it was time to leave.

I deleted my 13 year old high karma account. And now I’m adjusting to being a new Lemmy user.

Nah don’t even bother. If someone asked that, it would just be edited out of the recording. And it would still give VP a platform to talk.

Shunning is the way to go. It’s far more embarrassing.

The Onion needs to start publishing articles that discuss trump doing really positive things.

“Trump pledges to increase taxes on billionaires and eliminate their tax loopholes”

“Trump apologizes for renaming the Gulf of Mexico, pledges to undo damage”

“Trump calls on the senate to pass bill that criminalizes insider trading in congress”

“Trump removes all foreign tariffs, making a plea to restore trade deals with the US”

“Trump signed an executive order to forgive all student debt”

Now THAT would be some serious satire.

The trump regime was designed to TANK the US economy so that stocks, businesses, and industries can be bought by billionaires at rock bottom prices.

All is going according to plan.

The wealthy can always try to own more.

Each time this happens, it’s another transfer of wealth from the bottom to the top.

The top takes more, and the bottom has to fight amongst themselves for a smaller and smaller piece of the pie.

No, because the ultra wealthy OWN the media outlets.

It should really only be used for medical supplies.

But we’re too far gone now. Our earth is fully infected with decaying plastic, we’re all ingesting it, and there is no undoing it.

So, going forward, hopefully Reddit comments that mention lemmy won’t get banned lol.

Sure, it’s secure-ish.

But these types of conversations aren’t supposed to happen via texts that will disappear in 7 days.

Presidential records are supposed to be recorded. Journalists are unable to make FOIA requests if no records are kept. Even if a FOIA request would be denied now, the records should still be kept for possible declassification decades from now.

This regime dangerously eschews transparency and has become a dark hole.

It’s like the meme of that guy tapping his forehead: “you can’t request records if there are no records”.

Yeah it’s called “full movies on YouTube”.

What do you think the trajectory/timeline looks like for lemmy to develop a more robust array of niche communities (aka niche subreddits)?
