They all use Chademo connectors and air cooled batteries. Might be ok for puttering around town or as a commuter car, but that’s about it.
Volkswagen just paid Rivian a truckload of money because VW couldn’t figure out how to write EV controller software. It’s ridiculous.
What does VW get out of this?
Streaming execs don’t know what the hell they are doing.
The firmware on the remote was supposed to update after updating the AppleTV. I guess the update didn’t fix it. Pressing TV and volume down for a few seconds restarts the remote which usually fixes it for a while.
During Covid, they lent out multiple copies of the same book when they only had physical access to one copy. It would be like your local library making Xerox copies of their collection and handing them out. There’s no protections for that.
Capitalism Deregulation is not working.
That you need to wash your hands after going to the bathroom. I’ve seen too many grown men walk straight out of the restroom after urinating.
I’m gonna keep using my old watch until I see a compelling reason to upgrade (like built in blood pressure or blood sugar readings). So far I haven’t seen any new hardware or software updates that feel like must haves.
What went wrong: The US government allowed studios to own streaming and broadcast channels. This resulted in extreme fragmentation of the market where programs were no longer sold on the open market and every studio felt like they had to open their own streaming channel to compete.
It didn’t work when studios owned movie theaters and so that was outlawed. Now we’ve come full circle and studios can buy movie theaters. That’s not going to save the theaters because the studio is going to put their product out for a week before shuffling it off to their streaming channel. Or worse, cancel it for a write off rather than let it air on competing networks.
“Advanced nuclear reactor” — I will believe it when I see it. The US seems to be stuck in 1970s designs. I would love to see pebble reactors and designs that don’t create as much waste.
If I remember correctly, Microsoft experimented with something like this years ago. I tried to find a link but no luck. As I recall it focused on stitching together user-uploaded photos to create a panoramic view of a location over time.
It will be interesting to see the upgrade numbers in a year. Do most people not care about AI, or will the user base be wary? Current numbers show around 77% uptake on iOS 17.

Meetup.com and volunteering.
We can eliminate mosquitoes that bite humans and there will still be plenty of related species left for birds and bats to eat.

Really dumb, because it means your most talented employees will quit (because they can get a better offer elsewhere). This isn’t like a targeted layoff.
Netflix could always tell the show they aren’t being renewed and give them the opportunity to wrap things up. Even if it’s just with a two hour movie. Traditional networks frequently do this with shows. It would also make better sense because if the back catalog of shows on a streamer don’t end properly, no one’s going to subscribe to watch them.
After spending all that money and effort to kill HDDVD. 😆
