I still listen to Kanye West music. Sometimes even the new stuff.

Free software is about building a society more strongly based on individual rights. At least Marxism-Leninism certainly isn’t about that
I suggest you read some Marxist literature. Marxism has become a bad word in the West because it undermines exploitation under capitalism. But everything Marx and Lenin espoused was based on improving the rights of individuals (you could make a convincing argument that the structure of the Soviet Union was incapable of accomplishing that goal, but that it got closer than anything American capitalism has been able to).
My personal rec is State and Revolution by Lenin. It’s short and easy to read.

Lol sure buddy

It’s a real shame we have to put up with these jokes for a few years. Hopefully the world bounces back like it did after WW2.

Cyberpunk 2077 is my rec. Great game and all the launch stuff has been fixed now.

We are living in a world right now where Google and Amazon have paid for the campaign of and direct access to the president.
We also lived in the same world where an oil company installed their chairman as the vice president who then was able to get the entire administration to invade Iraq and used the entire media apparatus to lie about why. It feels like you’re intentionally using a narrow definition of propaganda to minimize the effects of corporate propaganda.

I think to say that Google and Amazon don’t have more geopolitical sway than some countries is naive.

That’s a very narrow definition of propaganda. Corporations can serve propaganda to further their own interests.

Everything that the news tells us is at least partially propaganda.

We need to stop repeating CIA propaganda on Lemmy

Maybe I don’t think post scarcity is necessary for ending capitalism, but carbon neutral sounds good to me.

I think we need to address climate change and capitalism first. But once that’s done, I think space exploration would be sweet.

Yeah i do sometimes just shit post on here, but I’m also trying to treat it like forums in the pre social media age when you could recognize a few users just by their user name. I am also trying to contribute to the “community” aspect.

Does Lemmy count as social media?

What exactly has caused the outrage and need to identify the users age today? Why do we need this law now?

That’s true but I feel like I am putting money in Jeff Bezos pocket(tho I suppose you could make the argument that all credit cards and banks put money in the pockets of unsavory billionaires) by having it. I just don’t believe it’s good to support Amazon.

If you want proof that theres real humans on the Internet, this is it.

It’s wild in retrospect how influential a throwaway movie tie in video game ended up being.

I got an Amazon Credit card while drunk. I completely regret it and I’m ashamed it took me way too long to cancel it.
It really is that simple. The more Ys the more down.
