WTF is life coaching? Have a facebook acquaintance who did some class and calls herself one, after being a yoga instructor. Like–why would you take advice from a person of middling success? Is it just another MLM where people calling themselves life coaches teach other people to be life coaches so they can teach more life coaches?
He never had to take the stand in the first >place. He didn’t even have to be in the courtroom.
I thought he did have to take the stand, but didn’t have to be there for the rest of the trial. AFAIK he’s compelled to testify (or take the fifth, but he and the kids have to do one or the other).
Oof. I wonder how that will work in the case of infrastructure like roads and bridges–long term tolls? At some point it has to eat away at whatever good will the Chinese were trying to buy.
What happens if countries just default? Do non-Chinese lenders care? Does it trash bond ratings across the board?
MAX BO…smells like blockbusters.
Can’t hurt to have the docs prescribe some low dose benzoyl or other med for the anxiety. But the distraction suggestion is also good. Get some reading done.
Zuck’s includes a hint of Sweet Baby Ray’s.
Horrible, but also really impressive how they manipulate people. Forced engagement in the weekend leagues, resetting the game periodically…the addicts don’t stand a chance.
“Flood the internet” apparently means making shit for other trolls and posting it on an image board for trolls.
Came close with Ken Lay.
In my discipline we only pay if we want the article to be open access. Are there journals that charge $1000 and still put articles behind a paywall?
They’ll stop fishing soon anyway when the natural stocks have completely collapsed.😭
Until the prions get you.
That’s a different instance, but I wouldn’t be surprised if the same issues about csam apply on lemmy.world
“Stadtliche luft macht man frei” is an old German saying. City air makes you free. Life in a small town can be stifling. That close-knit family wants you to be just like them. God forbid you want to do or see anything new. The moving-to-a-big-city trope is as old as cinema, and has strong roots in reality.
Research Gate exists for authors, though I don’t think it would let you post others’ work.
Bar charts for long lists of nations are …long. And pretty hard to read. I’m not sure this is the best solution, but it works OK.
That’s usually about health insurance. Keeps their premiums down if they offer health as a benefit. Doesn’t make it right, but it is not a morality thing on the firm’s part.
