Yeah, I had the same conclusion. Images will undoubtedly be promotional for these things. Very biased. But for successful surgeries, very nice results. Some patients seemingly age backwards 20 years. Insane.

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•What do you do simply for the love of it and not for validation?
3·1 day agoYeah I’m not a fan of sharp things entering the body at all. I’m okay with vaccinations. I look away and let them do their thing. But like, people getting stabbed and stuff, that gives me chills. And stuff going into the skin close to where there are bones, like the hand and foot. Like an IV e.g. Yuck.
Yeah it’s a proper hit of nostalgia, almost 🫣

wondering what you’re comparing it to
The early days of the internet? 😅
No no, I don’t mean bad as in a bad movie, I just meant it wasn’t very gory to me. 😁 It was almost a comedy with it’s effects, IMO.
I thought it was a great movie, both me and the wife.

9·2 days agoParu shows you the diffs by default.
I just run
paruwhen I do system upgrades. Very convenient to have one command doing everything in a somewhat safe way.Of course, inspecting the PKGBUILDs still doesn’t protect us from having the actual software repositories compromised. Just because only the source hash changed doesn’t mean the software doesn’t have malware now.
That’s where I draw the line regarding trust. I don’t feel like going into to each release of each AUR package I have installed to check code to see if malware was injected. 😅

7·2 days agoparu always shows you the diff of the PKGBUILD on upgrade, so no need to worry about adding it to an alias that does both.
In fact, just running
paruis the same as runningpacman -Syu paru -SauAt the end I review the PKGBUILDs and make sure everything looks reasonable. Usually it’s just new source hashes, but not every time.

3·2 days agoOut of curiosity, what does EFS stand for?
The Substance wasn’t exactly bad in that regard. Yeah we probably did. 😅 Lots of gore videos in the early internet. But I respect your headspace.
I’m fine with gore, e.g., but I still really dislike needles. 😆

lol, I get that people can be squeamish 😆 Don’t worry, I’ve searched the internet before 😊🤟
I’m guessing before and after images will usually show success stories only, eh. Because those looked great. Would like to see a relatively botched example.
Looking at before and after images of this procedure and it looks pretty freaking incredible to be honest with you. Expensive af though.

That’s so crazy how we can be so opposite 😄
The scary part about knives for me is how actually dangerous they are. Like people getting stabbed can die just as easily as from a gunshot wound. Knives wreck one’s insides. And when people stab people they usually don’t just do the one stab. It’s often really going all in. 😭 And like, the feeling of having been stabbed and losing your life semi-slowly. So scary to me.
